So have the wowsers conceded this is nothing but a tax grab to limit the damage from an ever increasing budget deficit?

Someone was telling me they're also putting a 20% surchage on weekend taxis.

Drinking culture is so embedded here, that changes like that will piss people off, but won't completely stop them from hitting the grog. An easy way to get plenty of funds, I guess.
