It’s a bit of a catch 22 with Alex. We want him to excel at basketball and show he is a great athlete but if he does it means there is less chance he will ever play for us. IMHO.
Then prob in our case, hopefully, good enough for college basketball, but not good enough for NBA lol

We'll never see him in the black and white... :(
It's not like the AFL where heaps of players get drafted from the Vic U18 comp. There's hundreds of College teams and only 60 blokes get drafted per year.

Let me help out all of us Collingwood supporters. There are about 350 division 1 College basketball teams across the USA. Each team has about 15-20 potential players. So he is competing with 5000-7000 other college players to get onto a NBA list. With about 60 blokes recruited every year into the NBA, even if Alex is the most talented and possibly the best player on his list there are still 350 other college lists who have good players not to mention players from outside the college system. His chances of making the NBA are slim at best, unless he is a truly freek talent.

I don't know if his chances are slim or not. But there are a heap of teams who are miles off the pace without any players who will get close to the NBA. Him getting a heap of rebounds against a team may be as significant as a bloke getting 35 hitouts against the South Warrnambool ruck.

Exactly right the stats don’t mean shit. Some of the most talented basketballers in the world never make it to the NBA. It’s very political, personality driven…there will be another 20 options just like him…

My tip is he doesn’t get drafted.

Alex seems to be playing well in college but not exactly lighting the world on fire, it's hard to see him getting drafted at the moment.

I wonder if he will do the full 3-4 years in college and see if he can improve and dominate or whether he would consider coming home and walking straight into the AFL

He'll likely finish his degree and basketball there, and if nothing comes from a NBA drafting, then I imagine he comes home then. He's halfway through year 1 of college, and its a 4? year colleges over there I believe.
Gives him the time to physically develop as well.

Condon has played in 15 games for Florida, with respectable averages of 7.3ppg, 6.7rpg and 1.3bpg - Though his offensive efficency was poor for a big man, shooting 42% from the field and 25% from 3 point range.

It's not screaming NBA potential, but it IS enough to suggest that he'll get more opportunities for the Gators next season, so anyone hoping that he'll give up on his basketball dreams to sign with us early are probably out of luck.

Dis someone say he had to play a year and a half of college basketball to be eligible for the cat B list?

Money talks and he won’t be getting any NIL money
