That's crazy, that does not look like eye gouging at all. Like, how do you eye gouge someone with your hands on the side of their head? The ear and cheeks are not where the eyes are.
When Darling goes up for a routine chest mark at the MCG and it bounces off his chest let it be known theres not scaling, fixturing or interstate bias.

Its never a good look with fingers/hands around eyes but all I see is someone who is trying to push him away, gets no grip as someone previously mentioned and his hand slips away.
Very little in it and IMO thats not enough to suspend someone based solely on that footage.
If Puopolo has scratches around his eye, thats a different story - but I doubt it.

Now this one is a disgusting hit. Unprovoked and unnecessary. Got his whack and has not done something like this again so seems to have learnt his lesson. What he did today though was not eye gouging and I don't think it is a suspension according to the rules of the AFL. Not even a fine, because it was not forceful contact and there was no eye gouging involved.

I think there is a valuable lesson for the children to learn here. Kids, when you're fighting with your brother or sister, or are just involved in a schoolyard scuffle, it's ok to crush their windpipe with an elbow/forearm. BUT FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DON'T EVER TOUCH THEIR FACE!
