Only Judd has been named from Carlton.

I would have thought Murphy or Gibbs may have been in with a chance

No surprises the majority are Geelong players.

Some surprises as well .... Jobe Watson

Murphy & Gibbs? Not only did they have no chance, but they weren't even next best in line from our team.

Simpson certainly stiff, but it would have been surprising to see him picked. Betts was in with a strong chance for the team itself until he fell away badly.

Simpson the only other one who really deserves it but can see the others got in ahead of him.

Murphy would have suffered from the perception that he wasn't as good as last year, which he wasn't. Gibbs didn't do enough, Betts too inconsistent.

Agree with most... only Judd deserves a spot... Simpson and Scotto would be the only Carlton players that had a chance to make it

Eddie Betts was stiff, as was Marc Murphy. Neither should've made the 22, but both were deserving of a squad place.

I would have thought at least Murphy to have made the squad but not the final 22.

Don't agree with Betts as he has been out of form lately

Lately is the key word there. His first half was certainly better than his second (which is common for Eddie), but the choices shouldn't be based on form in round 22.

Eddie Betts kicked more goals than Adam Goodes and also had more goal assists and more tackles, yet Goodes gets in - presumably as a forward - for a good last month and a bit of footy. He played mostly in the middle in that period too.

Mid year, Betts was a lock for the 22. A poor second half should've seen him drift out into the squad, but to not recognize his 70 goals contributed is wrong (GC = Goals + Goal Assists - Mark LeCras, who people constantly tell me is a certainty for the 22, had 72 GCs).

Murphy had a poor month from the Brisbane game to the Collingwood game, but was great for the rest of the season. I can tolerate him missing out completely because the midfield is a hotly contested spot. Personally, I'd pick Murphy's season over Watson's and Mundy's, but that's probably bias.

What's wrong with the selectors? Is it because there is only one Carlton player?

I thought it was a bit strange picking 4 ruckmen - can't recall what is the norm, but it seems excessive.

Can't really be surprised about Simpson missing when even our own supporters underrate his season by suggesting Murphy should be in before him...

Also, at no stage was Eddie a 'lock' for the 22. Regardless, you judge over the course of 22 rounds, otherwise Barlow would have been in.

It's become a rubbish award. Very political. Judd, Murph, Gibbs and Simmo should all be in it. It's a complete joke. How on Earth did Deldudio get in ahead of Murph and Gibbs? No doubt the KB-factor. Bizarre stuff.

:)
