A complete over-reaction.
Some kids don't live on the same block as the local oval, and often have to cross the street to get to a game, so that's reason enough to cancel games as well. After all, kids in Adelaide (and elsewhere in Australia) are far more likely to get hit by a car walking to a game than to get swine flu while playing - and the effects of being hit by a car are far worse.

Not all Junior footy was called off only the Leagues that felt concerned did not play.Bit extreme if you ask me,a few parents in one league not happy and are wondering how long it will last.If the games are cancelled for a while some clubs are going to struggle with expenses not having an income coming in.
