****ing brutal half. SOO has always been a step above.

Watching the Cats is still my first priority but the Storm and this are now next in line before any other AFL games.

QLd just can't get through the middle, I'm amazed they are up

The game will open up. Can't have 26 players sticking to the task every second for 80 minutes. This game has fatigue written all over it.

Yep, I would have honestly carried another forward on the bench, Jensen has had a good year at the Broncs

What can a fresh Ponga produce though?

Ref is terrible. This is the slowest the ruck has been in a game for probably 20 years. Queensland are getting away with most of it

Murray is very lucky to stay on the field by coming off the bench to get involved in the melee

but but low scoring sports are shit!111!!11!

This game is absolutely nuts! cant wait for the 2nd half
Yep, not every game can be high scoring.

Edge of your seat stuff this game.

QLD defence was excellent. NSW need more imagination.

I really hate that this game allows players to just stand in the way of a player attempting to contest a bomb.

You don't have to give them a free run and jump at it. You can pick your spot but you can't move off your line as he comes through. Up to Lomax to get through the traffic.

Must get Walsh off, he is just too timid to take it up to the line.

He's taken it up a couple of times. Even a one off hit up when he didn't need to. He's had one timid moment where he went to ground and surrendered, but that's because he missed the timing with his outside man. so he went for a reset.

What should have been 2-0 to NSW becomes 2-0 to QLD.

For the last 15 years this game would end up about 30-6 with QLD blowing NSW away, has anything changed?

Plenty has changed. Queensland don't have any legends in this lot. No Inglis or Lockyer game changers.

I get that, but by players just milling around pretending they're not blocking, we're deprived of the contest for the ball in the air. Not good viewing for mine.

Meh, I'm fine with games not being decided by multiple bombs and a specialist jumper. I'd rather see ball movement.

NRL has had 3rd man in rule for a long, long time now. Sure even 10 years ago if you left your teammate 2 on 1 he might cop a few on the chin, but these days it could be 13 on 1 and all that will happen is he gets pushed around. So at what point do these idiots learn not to come in as your teammate isn't getting hurt anyway and you can end up with a 13 v 12 advantage.

Obviously in the rare circumstances punches are thown eg Burton a couple years ago you come in, but vast majority of the time now guys are getting binned for coming in to push and shove a guy who is just pushing and shoving themselves. Pointless.
