Welcome to North Melbourne Amy Gavin Mangan, super player in Ireland, will take time to get adjusted to Aussie rules but she has three things in her favour.

1/ She's 25, experienced, top footballer in Ireland and she has that little sidestep so when someone with her pace goes with her she does that move of hers and wrong foots her opposition, very clever.

2/ Pace, pure blinding speed but just as equally clever with the ball.

3/ The "X factor girl", I think she could be very capable of some crazy things next year, what an astute pick up by the club, amazing pickup, wow!

Forgive me for thinking we couldn't get better for next year with the "3" new girls to the club, absolutely unbelievable pickups, all three girls, I can't say my real thoughts on here right now because you wouldn't find these words in an English dictionary but I can assure you I'm in a state of disbelief that not only did we get Eilish Sheerin {2 time All Australian} + two good players in the draft, a very promising key forward and one of Irelands top players who has got speed to burn and who I think will have patches where she shows glimpses of what she can do and is exactly what we need. 😲🤩 2025, here's a hint opposition teams, we are going to get much better, and we have the girls to do it, lets take this club to another level girls!

Freo supporters were pretty unhappy about losing Heatherington too which can only be a good thing.

For someone who knows:

Why would draft rather than directly list an Irish player? Is it to use the minimum picks?

Is Amy currently living in Ireland?
I would say the min picks thing in our case

We had to take 2 picks in the draft and only had 2 list spots

If we had a 3rd list spot could’ve prelisted her

But we had a go at bidding on Violet Patterson at that pick which the Pies matched. So maybe we might have had a look at her post-draft if someone had retired/copped a long term injury.
