Keep polishing that **** champ, maybe someone like Freo will bite, they love washed up Bummers.

The Toovey myth continues as well. Absolutely no contest of who I'd prefer in a back pocket lining up on a dangerous small. Can anyone tell me the last time Toovey was actually beaten (convincingly or not)?
Just watch the Adelaide final if you want to see McPhee performing in his carnival of errors. Tooves disposal coming out of defence isn't always brilliant, but I'd still prefer it coming out through him then old deer in the headlights McPhee.

Welsh would be perfect for us though, I just can't see why all the teams through the 20's in the draft would over look him.

McPhee kicked four goals in the Adelaide final and was Essendon's best by a mile (not saying alot I know)

As a Bomber supporter I would be gutted if McPhee left but would not be too bothered if Welsh departed.

McPhee brings versatility to the table. Welsh is a good solid player but don't think he would add alot to the Collingwood side.

Are you normal?? McPhumbles is a spud his clangers and **** ups far outweigh the odd good thing he does. Welsh on the other hand is a much required player IMO. How many times has he fixed up Judd over the years, ppl tend to forget he broke his leg during the pre season, yes he didn't set the world on fire this year, however with a full pre season he will add so much to the list over the next 3 to 4 years.

McPhee is an absolute dud - the biggest flat track bully in the comp. If you think Neon Leon goes missing in finals, have a look at this joker!

Hine, Malthouse and co. wouldn't be stupid enough and even entertain the thought of drafting McPhee.

I agree with MarkT2 - would rather see our youngsters in Sidebottom, McCarthy etc spend time in the midfield.

You mustn't watch much football.

McPhee kicked 4 goals in the final against Adelaide and was voted the second best player for the game in the B and F.

What a stupid response.

Where did I mention Toovey in my thread.

I looked at the role that Leigh Brown played at Collingwood this year and suggested that McPhee could better perform in this role.

Adelaide Final - McPhee kicked 4 goals and was voted second best player in the B and F Award.

You have a promising player in Toovey who is starting to make his mark in the AFL so you would be best served by supporting him.

did i miss something or fall asleep for the last few years

i wouldnt touch eitheir of these players, welsh is ok, but he isnt going to be the type we need, we had enough "Senior" players under performing in big games as it is , i doubt a player like welsh and especially mcphee would make us a better side going forward.

The part about Toovey obviously wasn't directed toward you.

You are a buch of strange people.

All I did was to give an overview of Welsh and McPhee's strengths and weaknesses to assist the thread.

I didn't expect it to become a point scoring exercise !

Lol, again, I don't think his post was exclusively meant for you champ :thumbsu:

Welsh as a tagger in our team would add alot. He would balance our midfield really well. We desperately need a tagger and Welsh is one of the best.

McPhee agree on. Not so much he doesn't have some great strengths to his game but we don't need a utility - we have plenty of those. Our defense is strong enough without him and we have plenty of third tall type forwards. Plus we don't anymore players that turn the ball over like he is prone to do.

Meh, a very vanilla footballer. He'd make our best 22 but I couldn't care less if we missed out on him. I wouldn't mind picking either Welsh or Harris up in the PSD but Ball would be the one I'd want if we are going to give up pick 30.
Exactly, we should concentrate strongly on Ball.

i think your overview was very fair and honest, which probably made me realise welsh isnt going to improve us a heck of a lot, or more than what ball could

do agree we need a tagger, however if it was a choice between ball and welsh when it came to our pick 30, id have to take ball. Another potential clearance mid with a bit of grunt is what we need to help pendles, obree is almost past it, we got decimated in the last four games of the season(3 finals and bulldogs match) in the clearances and midfield. Balls disposal is perceived as dodgey, but i think he would work well with pendles.

Don't disagree with you RE: Ball but I just think that a tagger is a more pressing need. Ultimately i'd be stoked with either. Pendles absence had an impact on our clearance winning ability in atleast one of the finals and the extra year in some of our younger mids will help too. I see more scope for improvement from players off our list in Balls possie wheras very little in Welshs. Fair call though, I definitely see your reasoning why Ball would be a better option, really if we picked up either both would address a need.

I must be missing something. I have never seen Welsh do anything that would make me jump up and say lets get him. McPhee is a decent player wouldn't be upset if he came to pies but he plays a H Shaw type role at Essendon so don't know if we would have much use for him. Got to make sure we land Ball and forget about Welsh not worth it.

Welsh is a personal favorite of mine.

I really rate him.

He is a tagger but also goes in and under. Can win clearances.

If you offered me either Ball or Welsh, it would be a tough decision. I don't know which way I'd go.

It's probably all an exercise by his management to bunk up his price. He is not even in town so not like he is wanting out or anything. It just his manager putting the pressure on the Bombers.

But I'd love him at Collingwood. Would suit us to a tee.

I have no interest in Mcphee. Has rock hard hands. Inconsistent and gives away too many free kicks.

Ball, Welsh, Thorp to name a few

Depending on where the pies coaching staff believe we have a deficiency, i think it would be a good move to persue Welsh if he's genuinely had a falling out with the Dons.

He's Experienced, Hard, has good skills and could be real asset to the midfield/backs

Re: Ball, Welsh, Thorp to name a few

Hi there. You look like someone i can ask a question and get a solid reliable answer. With for example Daniel Bradshaw how did he get a choice of Carlton or Sydney?
its obvious now that he is going to sydney but i was under the impression that he would just go in to the draft and anyone could get him ? ........ Also Collingwood are still confident of getting Luke Ball over the line how is the question and Andrew Welsh has indicated collingwood as his choice of club if essendon cant fulfill his contact requirements. sorry to bother you but im dum founded ....

kind regards Steve
