Andy Maher - Sorry but I don't get it

Me, too. I don't mind Dermy as much as others do, even though he's "confident". HA

Derm's one of my favourites.

He may not get it right at times but at least he's bearable and his voice is good for the high pitch.

I really like his stories, even though he's very happy to talk about himself a lot.

With his afternoon show this year I've got a bit tired of his sucking up to guests- in particular females. He seems to see himself as a bit of a crusader for women's sports- and while I like the idea of giving greater recognition to female athletes, everytime he has a female guest he can't hold back from giving compliment after compliment like they are the most amazing athlete and person he has ever met. Needs to reign it back a little.

More just ass kissing in overdrive,wants to be liked by everyone or something. His afternoon interviews are always boring as bat shit coz it's usually with a female softball player or a physiotherapist or someone obscure and not really interesting to the majority.

He backed her to the hilt, it wouldn't do not to be seen to be saying the right thing on these issues. Sadly he and Robbo spent a whole hour on the topic which was 55 mins too long IMO. No actual footy was discussed during that segment.

He made a crude comment about Scarlett Johansson a while ago. There were a couple of complaints sent in about it.
It was a really bad segway into something else but it was along the lines of "speaking of people i'd like to have sex with, Scarlett Johansson's new movies out"
He said something else as well but i don't remember

I like his afternoon show on SEN, i think they made the right move putting him in there. It was a bit of a Void and you get some great storys. Cant say i have really noticed him much commentating, but i can see why he might get annoying.

I can see what people say by he over praises, i think he does it with men too.. "so youve been there and come through this, so you know" etc.. to paraphrase this trotted out line.. but he has to say something, not gonna sit there like a stunned mullet.

I started listening to the podcast with TGO but by god they were both awful on the issue. It only got legs because it gave all the big ego knobs in the media a chance to take pot shots at each other over longstanding personal vendettas. Yawn.

So it turns out one of the women that writes the blog (or is it a podcast?) called the Outer Sanctum is Maher's wife. These are the people that made a big deal of the Eddie Caro thing. No wonder Maher has been going on about it all week. Did he disclose this right at the beginning? I have heard most of 'the conversation' about it (unfortunately) and the first I heard that it was his wife who broke the story was today.
