G'day guys,

Has anyone got a copy of the 2010 TSL Roster yet?

I noticed in the Mercury on Xmas day that Lauderdale has obviously got their roster released to them and I've got Hobart's here from the AGM last week.
Just wondering if there's a copy floating around online that I haven't spotted :)

I sent a email to Football Tasmania about when they will release it to the public yesterday. Will post the reply on here.

Got my email back about the roster.
It will be released to the public via the AFL Tasmania website and through the media during the first week in February.

What a joke AFL TASMANIA. get off your asses 3 months to the season starts and no1 knows where there playing round 1.

The below won't be far off the mark. North Hobart are asking why they have to come up to the coast twice and are trying to get that fixed. Why wouldn't sides play each other twice? Once at home -once away. Fair and equable. Hope this helps.

The roster looks good. Would of prefered in round 1 to watch Glenorchy vs Clarence under lights on the Thursday night.Would get a bigger crowd I would imagine as well.

The below won't be far off the mark. North Hobart are asking why they have to come up to the coast twice and are trying to get that fixed. Why wouldn't sides play each other twice? Once at home -once away. Fair and equable. Hope this helps.

I think part of the problem of the past SWL was having too much travel. Having an uneven roster is designed to limit that travelling. I may be mistaken but I see that North Hobart go to the coast twice. Clarence dont go at all. Given their home dominance I think Wadey could probably give them the flag now:eek:. Given that the clubs dont make anything for playing in the finals, it may save them a lot of money for this season. We could just watch the AFL each saturday arvo & have a few beers:D

The Devonport magpies are that happy with the draw they are only training 2 nights a week up until the start of the 1st game. The roster certainly helps those clubs in the north of the state.

A very cursory glance shows Clarence travelling twice to Windsor Park to play Launceston, which can't be right...check your own team for errors...!

I'm trying to work out in my own head how all Southern teams could avoid playing on the NW Coast twice (as in one of the 5 Southern teams draws the short straw and ends up with Burnie and Devonport and a Launceston side as the three away trips), and it's not mathematically possible with this system of draw formulation...since these guys actually get paid to mull over questions like this, unlike me, it sounds like North Hobart need to grow some balls...Burnie travels at least 150km to 7 matches, notwithstanding the odd gala day on the Coast where the other Northern sides help take up some of the load (e.g. all of North Launceston's games v Devonport were played on the NW coast last year, including their gala "home match" at West Park!)...

They're all a pack of wusses anyway! It wasn't travel that wrecked the old SWL, it was bouncing cheques for inefficient trading and overpaid players...and driving around the state this week on holiday, for far longer journeys than any SWL match would need, had me thinking I could do it again easily as a mere holidaymaker- never mind only 3 times for the year and getting paid for it!

South get two away trips to play the Demons at NH as well...home v Clarence, Glenorchy and Hobart, away to Lauderdale...

Not grumbling, don't care where as long as we win (which as a 40yo East/South supporter takes up a hell of a lot more mental energy!), but without looking further it seems as though some poor bastards will be getting Glenorchy twice at KGV, or Clarence twice at Bellerive...?

Gotta admit, I'm not following the rationale here...

for me i like the away games, particularly the northwest coast ones. very friendly people up there, always a bit of fun, few beers etc. it does look a bit odd that clarence don't travel to the coast at all, but after last years final series it doesn;t surprise me that they have a cruisey draw. i don't think on the road games will worry north hobart to much, 3 from 3 last year and all pretty comfortable wins,

You obviously liked driving around the state for footy matches so much that you left the place:confused:
I see that you are supporting the AFL Tas view that the last SWL failed because of the clubs. Of course the administrators could never be part of the problem, could they now.
The last SWL had bus loads of supporters travel at the start of it. At the end of it very few travelled, even the local crowds had fallen off. We always had good numbers at North but they just fell away in the 1990's. The grand finals of the late 1980's were 18-20,000. The last one in 2000 had 6,000. So you think it was all the clubs fault?
