So, the world's best player vs the next big thing (not that he isn't already...); this looks set to be an absolute beauty! Despite Federer's dominance you feel as though he's not far away from a loss and Novak could be the one to inflict it.

And yes, Federer hasn't beaten Blake yet, but check out their previous history, there's no way Blake's even challenging Federer tonight. I'd love to be proved wrong but unfortunately I think it'll be Roger in straight sets. But back to the potential SF, what are people's thoughts?

Federer has not being his usual self for this whole tournament.
Perhaps its due to a lack of matches before the Open, but if Federer doesn't improve his game we may well see a changing of the guard.

Federer's making a lot more unforced errors, and surprisingly at times appears vulnerable from the baseline. Against Djokovic who is almost like a wall, Federer needs to be at his creative best.

Djokovic is playing much better than Federer- has cruised through without dropping a set while Federer looks way underdone and as if he is just pushing balls around trying to get through any way he can. If Novak can stretch him to five sets I'd put my money on Djokovic all the way.

If Djokovic wants to win a Slam this year, now is the time.

I disagree. He may have dropped two more sets than Novak, but I reckon he's still playing well enough to beat him - or at least match him. Federer has that capacity to just switch it on when he needs to, and I don't think it will be any different vs Djokovic.

Novak Djokovic is on another level entirely to James Blake or Tomas Berdych. If Federer plays like he did against either of those two, or heaven forbid he plays to the same level he did against Tipsarevic, Djokovic will make him pay. Unforced errors are the last thing anyone can afford to rack up against Djokovic.

I still expect Federer to win, but this will be Djokovic's best chance to beat him at a Slam for a while, methinks.

I'd just like to go ahead and remind everyone about Fed's QF last year against Tommy Robredo and his subsequent SF against Roddick. He does what he wants.

As much as I dont want Fed to win, im convinced he will win this match.

Too experienced, and even has a good H2H record over Novak 5-1. If this was a best of 3 sets, Id give Novak every chance. Last year he managed to beat Fed in Canada (on 2 tie breaks)

Fed in 5 set classic for me.

Several differences:

Federer also had a full "pre-season" last year. And his match against Robredo (a dangerous player on any surface, though prone to getting knocked out by lower ranked players) he still won in straight sets. None of his last three matches this year has he not looked rattled at some point.

And Djokovic > Roddick or Robredo. Fact is, if he continues playing the way he has been, Novak could knock him out, especailly if he brings his A game.

FED in 3 - too much experience in this part of of a grand slam tournament. Time to book your flight home Novak

what is wrong with Federer tonight, there is no sting from his racquet.

The scoreline so far would suggest that Djokovic is dismantling Federer, but Federer is making so many unforced errors
