It was a terrific effort by Caulfield to get close to Mgs in 1st's, 2nd's and 3rd's. Certainly proved that they are on the rise as a football school.Could have almost won in the 1sts if a certain player had not pulled out of a marking contest allowing Measures to kick the sealer. 2nd's did very well to get within 6 goals of MGS.Could win a couple of games.

Were the Caufield 2's undefeated last year?
Seeing as though the MGS seconds struggled to win a match last year i would hardly say the Caufield seconds did very well! MGS thumped them all over the ground especially in the midfield.

CGS 3rd XVIII lost by four points to Melbourne Grammar. Tom Landy kicked 5 goals and Caulfield fought hard to come back from 5 goals down at 3 quarter time. It was a good effort to get so close.

bad luck southswans, i know that you manage the side.

lol mgs flogged cgs all over the park yesterday picking up a hatrick of victories against a so called premiership outfit in each of the 3 divisions who were cocky coming into the game.
great win especially by the mgs 3's who got over a bigger team after trailing at halftime to notch their first win for the yr, cgs acted tough but couldnt match it in either of the 3 divisions with mgs notching up the hardball especially in the 1's and 2's (who were too skillful for their opponents who flogged grammar last yr).

the scotch 3rds team handed out an absolute thumping to the skevs 3rds team. sources tell me that it wasn't scotch at their best but the b-train put in an impressive performance with 4 goals from full forward. 2-0, they are the form team of the competition.

Had Landy of kicked 5 CGS would have won.

Landy kicked 4 goals. 3 to Twomey and 1 single.

CGS 3rd XVIII beat Haileybury's 3rds by 84 points on Saturday. Wilson, Twomey, Hyman, Hyland, Erlanger and Hulls were among the best.

This week we travel to Geelong to take on Grammar.

Yesterday, CGS 3rd XVIII was defeated by the Geelong College 2nd XVIII by 7 points. We didn't play our best footy but we ended up getting close and would have probably won if not for the umpire in the last quarter paying a blatantly incorrect free kick to Geelong in the Geelong forward line late in the game for a "gone over the mark" infringement.

Final Score:
GC ..- 8.12 (60)
CGS - 7.11 (53)

Goals: CGS - Twomey 5, Peace, Baker.
Best: CGS - Tobias, Twomey, Scully, Thomas, Braden, Hunt.

And some bloody goal-umpire giving away a goal to Geelong when it was clearly a point and went behind the big stick. If he had of moved his arse and made the right decision then CGS would've got even closer.

Sorry to disappoint you buddy but you didn’t play the Geelong College 2nds but you played the Geelong College 3rds, and you got your ass handed to you on a silver platter. the only reason that you were able to stay in the contest for so long was because of the umpire favoring your side with every decision and turning a blind eye to your dirty tactics, and not to mention calling many free kicks for out on the full because your players said that they were. So don’t blame your misfortune on a free kick that was perfectly legitimate. Last time I checked, if you do step over the mark then the opposition are awarded a free kick (I suggest that you read the rule book before playing next week or posting another comment). By the way, that free kick you talk about only resulted in a behind being kicked, which by my calculations wouldn’t have cost you the game…well done mate, but better luck next time.

GC Goals: Osborne 2, Thomson 2, Bourchier, Hannah, Zwirs, Veanes
GC Best: Day, Townley, Osborne, Mitchell, Ebob

Xavier have so much depth a their school. I played in a thirds team on the weekend and i think some of our players would have had more of the ball than Weasley. We wone by 130 points and all of the foward line kicked more score than their team

South Swans, you are hilarious. Considering what schools playing at Caulfield have to put up with from the umpires(first XVIII matches excluded) you are the last school that should be complaining about dubious umpiring.

no mate geelong college 3rds were the superior side on the day get over the umpires
You guys were a lot bigger but the geelong boys used their speed and run with the ball to get it the ball in the forward line quickly with players like the B-Train crumbing every possibility.
You guys were lucky it wasnt on our main oval we would have ran circles around you Caulfield boys.

CGS are the best team in the comp... by a mile
------ except for MGS and GC who they lost to and SC and Xavier who they haven't played. In fact they are not even a top four side. In fact not even the best of the non football schools.
