It was hardly a "cracker of a game". For those interested, Melbourne won by 7 goals sending a clear message to all other APS 2nd XVII sides this year.

Melbourne Grammar 2nd's: 11. 7. 73.
Scotch 2nd's: 4. 7. 35

- In the 1st XVIII game, Melbourne Grammar won by two points.

Yeah, fair blow-out in the 2nds game. Grammar were too strong there.

In the 1sts, Grammar were too strong again and probably should of won by more. Tom Hawkins is a big boy and i assume will be taken under the father son. Grammar's midfield also too strong. Overall Hawkins and Vance were standouts.
For Scotch, Vice-Captain Davis was the best, with the Aboriginal boys playing in bursts. Jacobs at full-forward tried hard all day and finished with 4. Good effort.
Both teams will have massive improvements, in terms of personnel and skill.

Ivanhoe Grammar have played against both Hailebury and Geelong Grammar and beaten them both yet Ivanhoe will not be premier in the AGSV comp, actually should finish around 4th. Does this mean that the AGSV comp is better or that Hailebury had a terrible day (admittely it was pouring rain). Cant see how you, danny, can say theyve had a great preseason...

Whitefriars in the ACC would smash all the APS schools and Ivanhoe Grammar, so does this mean the ACC is better than the lot of em?

Maybe, the standard of ACC seems a bit lower then last year.

Having said that there were 18 TAC cup players playing in Friars v Geelong yesterday.

St.Bernards and De La have seemed to drop off the pace a bit.

It's hard to see ANYONE beating Whitefriars this year

Oh a mate of mine said they were undermanned against Geelong Grammar but still won by 3 goals or something. I think they've got a couple of boys back this week but are still missing a fair few.

haileybury should win the perimership but their round 2 match against Xavier should be the measure to see if they can go the hole way either haileybury or xavier for me

Scotch beat Brighton by 5 goals. Whilst MGS defeated Assumption College by 2 goals out in Keilor good effort in thier bye weekend.

Geelong College beat St Kevins by 33 points 97 - 64. They get banjanin(inj) and schofield (Vic U16) back for the game against Caulfield next week. Who else won this week?

Geelong Grammar 10.13 def Wesley 4.9
Xavier 13.15 def Caulfield 4.5
Geelong College 14.13 def St Kevins 9.11
Haileybury 20.13 def Carey 7.6
Scotch 15.13 def Brighton 13.9

Melbourne had the bye, and defeated Assumption in a practice match. Did anybody see these games? Best Players, Goal Kickers. Looks like a long season for some schools. ( WC, SKC, CGS)

Wesley had a lot of injuries

Ed cus did his AC joint (was at sady)
Elliott Rose has osteitis (sandy also)
David McMullin did his ankle (was at oakleigh)
Cookie was out also (was a regular last year)
Savvidies hurt himself in an internal game (played more than half the games last year)
Harry Croft had vic metro the next day, so he didn't play.

But yeah the year 12s dont have a lot of depth, next year Wesley will do alright though (they won the 10A premiership last year).

Only one team can win the premiership, what pansie sport are u talking about? Or are you one of those people who say that even loosers are winners.

(Didn't Haileybury win it last year.) Anyway, who wins the 10A Premiership is Irrelevant as any good year 10 player is playing 1st’s. Therefore a 'good' 10A team usually just means that it has none of its players in the 1st's.

1st footy is also a hell of a step up from 10A footy and many 'good' 10A players find it very difficult to ajust (some don't even make it).

there is no ladder in the 10A's and not everyone plays each other therefore there is no real permiership and multiple teams finish on top.

everyone plays each other once and Wesley won it last year and hailabry finished 3rd, dunno how many year 10s are in the firsts at other schools, but there were 3 regular year 10s in the wesley firsts last year.

If you had your facts right then you'd find that there was a tie for the 10A premiership, between Haileybury,Wesley and maybe Geelong College or Xavier.

Totally agree with D-Mon, as Xavier, Melb Grammar and Scotch had some of its 10A players, playing 1sts last year.

If you had gotton your facts you would know that Wesley officially won it, trust me i know. Wesley and Hailabry were both 10-2 but because Wesley beat Hailebry Wesley were OFFICAIL winners. In the last round, Scotch played Hailebry, if scotch won they would have been 1st because they beat Wesley, but if Hailebry won Wesley would finish top unless Wesley lost to Brighton.

Wesley also had players in the 1sts, 3 were fairly regular and a couple more played 1-3 or so.
