should be finals, means the top teams get one last crack at each other.

1 vs 2

3 vs 4

winner of 1 vs 2 goes straight into grand final, with the loser getting a double chance and playing the winner of 3 vs 4. the loser of 3 vs 4 being knocked out.

loser of 1 vs 2 vs winner of 3 vs 4 then play off in the prelim for the second place in the grand final. this is how they did it in the junior league i played in. i reckon its quite good.

Yeah i agree. But i reckon just top 2 teams should play. If theres 3 then top team has by while 2nd plays 3rd and whoever wins that plays first.

for the players sake, would u contemplate a 2 week finals series of

1 vs 4
2 vs 3

Both winners go through to grand final. eliminates players getting injured and having advantage of week break.

doesnt any1 rate haileybury as a flag chance? if they win all their games they win it i think? (correct me if im wrong there)

aps deff need a final system and not the round robin sh*t they had either top 4 teams 1 v 4 .. 2 v 3 winners play off top 2 teams shouldnt hav a 2nd chance should b on an even kiel.

Obviously the schools dont want it because it interferes with other commitments the easiest way to sort it out is the winner is the school with the highest percentage ...very simple.

1. CAULFIELD
2. XAVIER

i think it will be caulfield being outright premier, with xavier second and haielbury and st kevins equal 3rd.

GO CAULFIELD.and just before i go id like to tell suspect1 to stick it uup his arse cause all he said for ages was caufield will lose to hailebury casue there not a team. come on suspect........explain what happened and maybe admit you were wrong. i know we all make mistakes but you kept saying it over ad over that cauflield will not win cause they are all selfish. a few caulfield boys actually played when they were extremely sick or injured and did not worry about doing further damage, all they wanted was to be premiers, not worrying about how well they personally went but wrrying about what they needed to do for the team despite adversity

Only thing i was wrong about was that caulfield won ? You won but gee you should have lost . To H/C credit they played with their 2 best players out and probably should have won . Had caulfield had Sandilands and sengstock or yamen out how would they have faired?? They were still undisiplined unaccountable and selfish . how many times did Hc have loose men standing in thier forward line unmarked? How many times did Caulfield ignore players in better positions yet try to kick a goal. If you believe that that is the best footy caulfield is capable of thern you are kidding yourself . i repaeat and all at the game i am sure would agree caulfield are a talented team but are not a good team . With the side they have got they should have wiped H/C. H/c had more spirit were better in the team stuff and the 1 percenters. Caulfield did show some glimpses of a good tema in the last quarter and to thier credit they fought it out but you cant convince me they are a good team . For three and a half quarters they were rabble . I was standing next to a grouip of the fathers and they were very frustrated by caulfields play .I wouldnt clear a spot for the trophy just yet boys.Still got to play stkevins and melb grammar 2 potential losses. the fat lady isnt singing yet.

your not wrong suspect1.
haileybury should have won, but caulfield had the umpires on their side all day too, and haileybury had 2 best players out which majorly handicapped them. it was quite funny haileybury were kicking plenty of goals in the 3rd quarter and the cheers when they did were atleast twice as loud as when caulfield scored goals. caulfield did not play well as a team at all until the last quarter, which eventually got them over the line

caulfield surely cannot lose...kennedy is now out for skevs and it is very hard to see caulfield dropping a game to melbourne grammar...

Caulfield have been great this year, but have won a lot of close matches.

They will no doubt be in that situation again over the next few weeks.

I think they are beatable - if they get a bit complacent they will put the flag in jeopardy. Xavier have a good run home and won't drop another game.

I havent kept up with the aps this year apart from going and watching SK a couple of times i dont know much, i am Continually hearing rumours of Hailberry buying all there players, can someone please shed some information on that for me please?. Also an ex perth boy and PSA school graduate i see that Trinity beat Xavier the other day, the comments may of been a bit biased from both partys but still an achievment, it was intresting to find out that Trinity have now beaten Xavier, Caufeild, Scotch and demolished St Kevins. How would they go in the APS in our conditions, those four schools are pretty hefty scalps in itself and if a top 10 Football schools was created were would they be? Cheers

Scholarships have always been a problem in the aps, as you can probably see from some of the other threads. Certain schools have always done it, although it's kept quiet and students are given them at a young age, year 7 or 8. Haileybury however began to give out large numbers of scholarships, and targeted kids in year 11 and 12, poaching them from other schools with the sole purpose of winning. It is generally thought that scholarships be given to kids in less fortunate positions, not to win a title. Haileybury aren't that strong this year and have about 8 scholarship kids, they were very good last year with about 18 scholarship players though.

As for some of the scalps, were the vic schools at full strength. If they were then you'd fare well in the aps league, if not you may struggle as many of the scools are known for footy.

Trinity beat Xavier but they were missing their best player, full back, centre half back etc. Lots of big names. At full strength they would give them a run for their money. They also played in hot conditions, perth style football etc. AT Roche xavs would win by 25 points.

Enjoy the party.

Bought your side though.
No better than Haileybury IMO.
Sorry Couchie that you are misinformed!!!
Caulfield do not give out scholarships for footy unlike some.
as the TIC (Sparksie) said "this team has nutured since Y7 & Y8.
There is great talent and if you get dropped for some reason it is very difficult to get back in. There are players in the 2nds that would play in any other team but can't break in.
They are disappointed that they lost the first round but
the ultimate goal is at hand !!!

:DWho are who are who are we......(you know the rest):D
