Not to forget Dissentgate against GWS earlier in the season.I mean… you were 2-3 games out of 11th and had 3 single digit wins and a draw
Middle of the road side who had a good run in the back half of the season with two flukey finals wins.

Brings up memories of Hawthorn 2001.
Won the first 8 games,, made it to 6th and 2 finals wins before losing a prelim. Did not make finals for 6 years and faded badly.
But they should have too much talent to not make the 8

I'd argue Colligwood's two wins were more flukey than Carlton's. -32 i50s against the Dees (don't think anyone has won before with that kind of deficit) and then some very favourable Q4 umpiring to get over the 7th placed Giants by a point in front of a 99% Pies crowd at the G.

Was just talking about the finals wins in 2023. You said Carlton's were a fluke when we won 11 of our last 13 games of the season... so the trend doesn't seem relevant.

We do need to start the season better. Do that this year and we finish top 4 and probably avoid the Gabba.
