Not to forget Dissentgate against GWS earlier in the season.

Middle of the road side who had a good run in the back half of the season with two flukey finals wins.

Brings up memories of Hawthorn 2001.

Won the first 8 games,, made it to 6th and 2 finals wins before losing a prelim. Did not make finals for 6 years and faded badly.

But they should have too much talent to not make the 8

Starting a dynasty with a prelim final loss?

Yeah right

I'd argue Colligwood's two wins were more flukey than Carlton's. -32 i50s against the Dees (don't think anyone has won before with that kind of deficit) and then some very favourable Q4 umpiring to get over the 7th placed Giants by a point in front of a 99% Pies crowd at the G.

Yep.

Collingwood have been ridiculously lucky to have won 33 of their last 41 games (which includes 5 finals).

Hopefully the Carlton boys have learnt they have to perform for longer than half a season if they want to be genuine flag contenders.
We do need to start the season better. Do that this year and we finish top 4 and probably avoid the Gabba.
