Baby them and sugarcoat it all you like this boy is slower then many twice his size and Im talking height and weight as he's not going to gain much bulk you cannot increase bone mass so dramatically he's not getting much bigger or taller.

To mention this guy to replace McLeod with is ridiculous, he has no hook to him at all. What about his lobbed up to nothing kicking is excellent? his lack of speed and his waiting for crumbs outside of contests to run into trouble or panic and inability to lay a tackle is going to change with a few kilos? If you can't even lay hand on players that waltz past when your not carrying some extra. This guy passes to opponents with noone on him, noone has been further behind in development on a list at all recently of those I've seen on an afl field and I have been watching richmond and freo constantly players that show up as last picks as smaller players when other clubs have stopped taking picks that show a hell of a lot more then these guys such as our local champ Ben Nayson. This player is lower in prospect then any other player passed through those teams, how do we pick this guy up a long with Cook and clog up the list with broken ruckmen and pretend professional management is going on. In the past we've put these two slowish passive players on the field at the same time and expected to not get beat every game when players were sidelined and what happened? You essential play down a player or 2 with the lack of contest and ability you get, these guys pssessions become pretty much like a contested ball in motion with what happens if they even manage to find the ball.
You can say they are developing players all you like but they aren't ruckmen or KPP they aren't quick they show less ball skills, evasiveness and ability to keep their feet then lanky KPPs and even ruckmen these days, there are plenty of in and under not quick small framed players at the club already what are they being groomed for? Is this just all there was to scrap up? Perhaps they can play fine when their is no perceived pressure on them at all but that's never going to happen at AFL level and even then what do they bring to the side when they can cope? Their highlight reel would consist of the one or two passes over all their games that actually made it to their team member or a little jog up the field when their player left them alone due to the lack of threat they pose. These guys will be fine making a wage at SANFL level but younger players then them are better then they are bigger then they are and faster then they are and in a competition your stacking the deck against yourself playing them as the team is slow as it is.

You can dislike it all you like but they just aren't up to it and they aren't likely to be anything flash when they do manage to get some games behind them.

When he's tackled it's like watching mini-Griffin. No attempt to get rid of the footy.

None our players attempt to get rid of it when tackled. We most give up the most HTB of any club in the league and by a distance.

There is an art into making the ball appear to spill free in the tackle.

Well said

I seem to be in the minority here. Yes he was terrible last night - looked slow, tentative, soft at the contest and his disposal was terrible. I remember him looking like that in his first couple of games too. It was only after he'd played 3 or 4 weeks of consistent AFL level footy that he started to look comfortable with the pace of the game. When he looked more comfortable he started to find more time and space and his disposal was pretty good. Was probably a bit unlucky to get dropped at the time. He's obviously not a guy who at this stage can just come in for an injury for 1 or 2 games and perform. He needs a length of time to get up to speed again.

I'm not going to write him off yet. With more bulk on him and some consistent footy and he could be ok. A lot of people on this board thought he was ok a month ago. Was atrocious yesterday (along with about 18 or so other guys) but he may still have some sort of future.

Give the kid a break. Had a bad game and isn't showing signs he'll be a top line player just yet... But to write him off completely is rediculus you never know what a couple of preseasons in the gym and increasing his tank will do to his game. I think the reason his game doesn't look flash at the moment is largely due to his small frame and that he doesn't have the time he needs to use his skills which are actually good. Good players find that time and space. Well have to wait and see whether Tony ends up finding it.

Well I'd compare him to a kinda surprise, you've got yourself an outwardly poor quality chocolate and the surprise inside isn't likely to develop to be entertaining.
At least he comes with all the parts.

Jesus - this is barely coherent English. Even forgetting the terrible analysis, it's almost impossible to read.
