In the continuation of the Commando appreciation thread, I'm thinking that a few fellow posters out there are fans of big Arnie's other movies and one-liners so maybe there should be a collective thread.

I'll get the ball rolling with the movie that I believe contain's some of Arnie's finest (one-liner) work.. The Running Man.

Amber - "What happened to Buzz-Saw?"
Arnie - "He had to split" (Arnie used a chain saw where every man fears most)

Arnie - "How bout a light?" (Arnie lights dynamite/flare and throws it at the flammable Fireball. After he explodes he says "What a hot head" LOL)

After strangling Subzero with wire he calls him a "real pain in the neck"



Let the one liner appreciation begin....
 
A couple more from The Running Man:

Arnie, after tying up Amber on her bench press, asks for her help. Amber says "Yeah, well why should I?" Arnie: "Because, I'm going to say pleeeaaase!" while simultaneoulsy ripping the bench press up out of the floor!

Arnie to Dynamo (big fat bright colorful light covered opera singing stalker) "hey light head, hey Christmas tree!"

Arnie has kidnapped Amber and they are at the airport and about to fly out. Amber warns Arnie that she gets air sick and that she'll throw up all over him. Arnie, who is wearing a colorful hawaiian shirt, replies "Go ahead, it won't show on this shirt" Classic.

Running Man is THE movie for classic Arnie quotes.

Buzzsaw: "This saw's a part of me, and now it's going to be part of you!"

Arnie: "Noooh. Keep it."

Arnie kills buzzsaw by forcing his chainsaw up into him, from between his legs during the struggle.

End scene.

Next scene.

Girl: "What happened to buzzsaw?"

Arnie: "'Ee 'ad to spliit."
 
Well, he does star in my favourite movie (Terminator 2). So why not?

Schwarzenegger>>Stallone, for my money, in so many areas (i.e - good films starred in, acting ability, charisma, etc).

Ability to speak understandable english, which is really poor on Stallones part, he should have Arnie covered there but fails.
 
With the following, it's not so much what Arnie says that's funny but rather the way he says it, ie. his accent trying to get around the words.

Arnie in Kindergarten Cop: "You should be the one telling stories about bears that go shopping."

Arnie in Total Recall, when he meets the guy at Recall. The way he says "Nice to meet you" is a pisser.

Arnie again, in Total Recall: "Come on Cohagen, you got what you want, give these people air."

And this one isn't a one liner but a scene. At the start of The Running Man Arnie's in jail and walking around carrying a steel I-beam on his shoulders - what a classic!
 
Cant believe no one has mentioned the absolute classic 'Hercules in New York' where Arnold plays Hercules and says to the head god about being in heaven "I've been here for 10 000 years and I'm bored". Only line I can remember from classic movie!

Predetor:

"Stick Around"

Running Man:

"I live to see you eat that contract, but I hope you leave enough room for my fist because I'm going to ram it into your stomach and break your goddamn spine"

Total Recall:

"Consider that a divorce!" (after shooting his wife in the head)


Commando:

"Don't disturb my friend - he's dead tired"

Have to disagree with you on one of your points DaRick. As much as I love arnie and his films, not one of them I could say his acting performance was worthy of acclaim. His best acting performance imo was Red Heat, a very underrated film in his body of work. Terminator being his next which ironically only had a few lines of script. But physically his acting was great.

Stallone on the other hand, was brilliant in Copland, a performance that was critically acclaimed. Rambo (First Blood) like Terminator was light on script but he was also excellent in this movie. Rocky got best picture in 1976, something that would not of happened if his acting matched his 1992 effort in "Stop or my mom will shoot"

Acting ability, Stallone has the edge comfortably.

some classic ones here.

if anyone wants a big big laugh, get the terminator 3 DVD and turn on the commentary. it's got the best arnie quotes of all by the great man.
