"Unemployed at last!"*

So hopefully I can come and visit here again a bit more.

Taking advantage of the fact I am now "freelancing" again *s******* I was op-shopping the other day and came across a giant framed print of DaVinci's "The Last Supper". I was inpired by a vision. So I bought the print for $1 and went up to the art shop, bought some red blue and yellow Chromachryll's a couple of brushes and set up in the sunroom.

Viola! An hour later I have a giant framed print of "The Last Supper", with the participants all wearing their Fitzroy jumpers. It now has pride of place in the office, replete with a Sherrin at Jesus' feet, and some goalposts can be seen out the window at the back.

There was a similar pic on the wall of the Punters Club hotel years ago, but the apostles were unfortunately wearing collingwood jumpers.

* - A quote of the opening line of the highly recommended "Such Is Life" by Wangaratta's finest, Tom Collins (Who wrote unbder the name Joseph Furphy, hence the slang "furphy" for a diodgy story - it's a dull day when you don't learn anything).

You must post a pic on here.

Definite mandatory photo op, great work Phil. Interesting that you claim you are unemployed but it sounds like you are more meaningfully employed than most! The question remains though, is it art, or is it pure commentary?

So, how about a calendar? A cover depicting the image you have thus produced, and for each month, a crosshair zoom-lens of each character within the whole.

Or perhaps the entire composition could be re-visited, and the entire Last Supper cast be shown in mid-quarter action, contesting a hard-ball get, mayhap the 'Last Screamer'.

Had you thought about assigning particular Roys identities to each of the reps de la grousebloke?

Re: Such Is Life, I have it, was disappointed that Ned never got mention :( but yes, a major piece of aussie literature. Had no idea about the furphy story though, assuming that, itself, is not also one. Joe Furphy. Well lop my legs and call me shorty.

Finally, welcome back to colony! Stay a while, stay forever.

Well, finally managed to get an owner of one of those camera phones drunk enough for him to want to take a picture. Quality is variable, probably so bad it should be subject to a sheep grazier's alert, but below is art!

Can I purchase a copy of this somewhere? Want to pray at the alter of Saint Kevin. Could you also morph in Muzza, Bernie and Pikey as well as the odd AFL/scumbag Judasand a big V between Jesus and whoever. Maybe Leonardo could foresee the future.

It doesn't come up in the picture too well, but there's a Sherrin at the feet of the long haired bloke, and behind his shoulder you can see some goalposts out the window.

I like to think of it as the Zanotti Code.

The Baldy guy on the right end is definitely Dwyer.

Nah, but I'd like to know who that is though!

I am a keeper of a flame. The Fitzroy Spirit imbues the Katoomba Krushers Kricket Club. We haven't won a game all year, and we're the only KKK run by a blackfella. You can usually find me holding up the bar at the Family Hotel, or I was until the bar collapsed, but you probably know that story.

We are getting a kick going at the Falls Reserve again , which is the highest Australian Football venue in, well, Australia. Send me a PM and I'll put you in touch with the Katoomba Sherrin Appreciation Society. Bring your own liver. I nagged Benny down at the council and he's going to put the eight sticks in the ground again for 2007.

If there's enough interest I will send off a 300 dpi print quality jpeg for interested parties.

That is freakin AWESOME Phil!! Nice work. :thumbsu:

I'd certainly love a copy. Will there be other famous art works given the Roy treatment in future? A series would be even better!!
