Welcome to the Ask an Atheist thread II.

Previous part:

Standard board rules apply.

Without the existence of a God people wouldn't have any reason to live or be good, therefore there has to be a God. Most people believe in a God, therefore there is a God.

I mean seriously???? i should start by raping and killing straight away!

Embarrassing effort, VD, your worst till now.
Incorrect- I was asked by your A-Theist colleague about what would it take to utterly disprove God, where I had asked him to do so, and of course, he couldn't, so in true form, he put it back to me. THIS IS ASK AN ATHEIST, after all.... I could not care about any 10 proofs at all, yet they are written about, indeed from the Islamic perspective as well, which is a good read.

Yeah the islamic perspective talks about Moses/mohammed being such a noble person.

Do you want me to tell you the list of things this Noble person(s) approved of?

As i said, surely you can't be this dumb.

These are embarrassing and all presuppositional.
Not one of those premises lead to the conclusion “there is a god”.
Very good, so can you satisfactorily disprove beyond doubt that God exists, that God created all things, that we were meant to have a relationship with God?
Of course you can't, so while that doubt will exist for eternity, there will always be a proportion of humanity who will defer to the possibility that God is real.

you've said that so often, of course you believe that, and maybe I am, maybe you're arguing with a simpleton.

VD , you simply can't be that stupid, i refuse to believe that you are that dumb. The websites you quoted, i lost 3 minutes of my life (which i will never get back), reading those.
The Islamic perspective takes a lot longer than 3 minutes

Not sure if 'defer' is the correct term when it involves indoctrination.

After reading the 2nd link , do i dare wanna read the first one? i did glance through it btw, it talks about Moses and Mohammed being the 2 most noble people on earth.

Really...i mean do you want me to list you how noble they were?

CS Lewis was certainly not indoctrinated. Had no religious upbringing. Endured enough hardships to want there not to be a God. Yet was drawn to Theism, and eventually Christianity by his own reading and analyses of life, and by Tolkien.
Although highly influential, he is not Robinson Crusoe in this regard.

Best known for his fictional pieces.

C.S is not the best example. His writings are very underwhelming. He claims that at the end of the day, morality is the same in all cultures throughout history (because our god). This is astonishing indeed. It's astonishing that anybody could possibly be this utterly and completely and mind-blowingly ignorant

That is certainly not his end of the day claim.
His writings are not underwhelming for most if us mortals, but I would not expect you to be enamoured by them.

From wiki: C.S. Lewis believed that while the expression of morality varies across cultures, the fundamental principles of morality are universal and objective. He argued that people have an essential agreement on values across cultures, such as the value of life, truth-telling, and lying.

And?
That is not how you worded it before.

JFI, asking the atheist here, how many of his writings have you fully read?

What?
A-Theist?🤣🤣🤣 I’m assuming you were referring to me here.
That’s embarrassing, I read it in WLC’s idiotic voice!
I’m an anti theist.
Your ten arguments are stupid.
Each can simply be countered with, why insert a god or your god of choice after the initial premise, you have to presuppose the god hypothesis before each premise to conclude a god is possible.
All this does is make everything infinitely more complicated and ridiculous due to its unfalsifiability.
We don’t know if the universe came into existence before it expanded.
We understand that there is a mysterious phenomenon that keeps our universe held together and makes it expand beyond the speed of light.
Inserting Yahweh into this enquiry does what exactly?
Insert this as the answer for all those questions, what does inserting Yahweh into the equation do, how does it help?

A- Theism
A refers to without, like asexual, amoral,
So you call yourself antitheist.
Not many here do, but possibly many would agree with you for their own personaL reasons
Btw, they are far from my 10 reasons, but I was trying to get you and colleagues to show me the indisputable evidence that God cannot exist, that there can be no Creator God, knowing this is impossible, but "we are getting closer all the time".
It should not be put on me what evidence I need to be convinced-

I exactly said what he meant. Objective and universal moralities don't exist. Aztecs practiced human sacrifice. Muslims practice polygamy, Majority of the indians favor the caste system etc etc.

The world sucks sometimes. Therefore my god exists is his argument.. Not one ****ing hint of logic in this entire god forsaken part of his rambling
