F*ck off ubisoft

shrug

It's either morons sooking short term because of a 3 month delay, or morons sooking long term because "Ubisoft is shit and shouldn't have released a game that wasn't ready" if they stick to their date......... and the sad thing is it's the same morons sooking about both events.

This. I'm keen to play it, but I'd rather it be polished than rushed out.

Interestingly, this is going to be compared even more to Ghost of Yotei now that it'll be released the same year. Especially given they're both set roughly in the same era.

Yep. This should be applauded as a step in the right direction but won't be because it's Ubisoft.

Clearly going through some financial distress, the shitty thing to do would be to rush it out the door for some quick liquidity.

Me being upset is more to do I didn’t pre order other games and passed on joining a madden league cos I thought my time would be taken up with this. 6 weeks before launch is bad time to delay a game.

I am surprised I didn’t preorder this game. I guess I am slowing learning not to preorder every game just because I can.

FWIW, I'm sure it wouldn't be too late to join the Madden league.

Ubisoft finance reports got leaked, specifically named Shadows obviously but essentially stated since Outlaws underperformed and Shadows has all this hoo haa, best to delay it. Even though it mentioned that in all essence, game is largely complete as is, poor timing so might as well re-launch when say Monster Hunter Wilds is launching instead?

Also stated the board were going to essentially audit Ubisoft, so I'd expect some layoffs in the rather immediate future as that's generally how these things tend to go.

Apparently this sort of action was "expected" internally on their end, as in people in suits going "these other people have NFI what they are doing" and essentially investigating operations.

Meh, LAD PYIH will keep us occupied well beyond March.

This delay combined with the big sale I will be waiting for, I am hoping I will be on my third new LAD game this year.

Another delay ffs 🤬🤬🤬

At this point might just give this a miss.
Why? I don't understand why delaying the release by a month would make you go from "I'm keen on this" to "I'll give it a miss"? As annoying as it is, the delay means you get a better product when it is actually released.

It’s the 2nd delay already who’s to say it’s not delayed again ? Wouldn’t surprise me.
They went from releasing info early in week and taking pre orders to by the weeks end we are pushing it back again cos it’s not ready. Doesn’t give me much confidence.
And as others have said their are plenty of other good game getting released this year rather my money at this point goes to them.
In a year or two when it’s on free on gamepass likely try it.

Why exactly do you think a game gets delayed? Why does it make you go from being keen to "I'll play it in a year or two"? Confidence in what exactly?

It doesn't necessarily mean it's a buggy mess which they need to fix. Sometimes with development, you simply need more time to implement the features you want. It sounds like it's in a position where it could be released, but they're making changes due to feedback. I think that's reasonable.

Even if it was a buggy mess back in November, 3 months extra is going to help sort that out, so a delay is more ideal.

Damm was really looking forward to it but at the same time I can understand.

Ubisofts' future hinges on the success of this game they have no choice but to make it a hit if not it's bye,bye Ubi as a company which makes me sad thinking about it will always be one of my favorite game developers in saying that I think the game will succeed and could end up being the best Assasin's game in the franchise. Also they were going against the likes likes of Monster Hunter Wilds and the new Yakuza game next month. The games line up for March isn't strong means more exposure and eyeballs on Shadows.

Yep.

Game developers are under more pressure then ever these days so they release half baked games to meet the compaines dead line which is not right.

The recent parkour clips they have posted look like a good improvement
Love the new stealth mechanic where you can drag an enemy to a spot to assassinate or knock them out makes assassinations attempts much more engaging then just sitting in some grass whistling then waiting for them to come.

My thought being Ubi is pretty much dead as is, just waiting for Tencent to make up their mind and the success of this is rather meaningless in the grand scheme of things. They undersold and went poorly with Outlaws for example to really drive it home, their issues. For my view they're basically Bioware without the buyout to make it an obvious crash where you just bleed IP on the road to non existence.

So whilst this delay makes sense when you think about it, I gotta say, I lol at the best assassins creed game yet comment, no chance this ranks in top 3 when Ezio & Altair exist.

You also forgot to list KCD2 in your Feb line up, Warhorse are going great guns and I am quietly confident that that'll outsell Shadows regardless, as that has your "history" crowd that Ubisoft want for the European region and brilliant mechanics to keep people engaged instead of "same old same old" that Ubisoft is known for recently with this open world age.
