They lost to Penisula and Essendon Grammar (PEGS) last week. That was a big upset in terms of Assumptions record in the AGSV. This just shows that not only 2 teams are a chance this year.

Ivanhoe Grammar to win the flag this year! Marcellin lost yesterday by 36 points to trinity who ivanhoe beat last week and with assumption not a super power anymore, other teams who have not previously been considered (i.e. ivanhoe) are in with a huge chance!

Ivanhoe are no chance. Trinity were missing some strong players that day. Ivanhoe just wanted it more. They will not be final contendors. It will be out of PEGS, Assumption, Marcellin and Trinity

just wanting to know how much the quality and depth of assumptions boys have dropped off this yr? i hear so much about them and sacred heart college in adelaide and wondering if the depth is still there? and would like to know what the better players are like etc, with height and positions, because certinly a school to look for possible draftees hey? cheers

Good question. I seem to remember that his name was included in the original Calder list which was posted on the TAC Cup site.
It was and he was given the flick. Would love to know why.

Calder could use a goalkicker.

cannot believe that silver got cut. hes a freak. saw him kick 6 goals in 5 minutes in a practice game not too long ago. unbelieavable how he got cut, hes easily one of the best down at assumption.

Could a pre-season beep test result of 10 have been the reason? Maybe they were wanting someone who was a bit more mobile to play forward at his height, certainly has a stocky build.

I'm really only guessing, I would like to know the reason though.

Given he broke into Assumptions side as a Year 9 and was in the paper and on TV etc at the time, it is amazing that he's vanished from the U18 Tac Cup system.

Last year when Assumption made the trek over to Adelaide to play the might of Sacred Heart in the annual intercol, they went down by about a goal in the end. Do you Assumption boys think you will have what it takes to win the game this year? How much talent have u lost/gained this year?

Just a quick question aswell. Does your school captain Josh (lastname?) play 1sts?

Name the good players that were missing. GOOD players, not average bums who are middle of the rank. Ivanhoe are good this year.

dayne coulson-hoffacker - is on oakleigh list

about half the senior backline, we were playing year tens at full back and chb. Our inexperience leaked through.
Also our ruckman was winning all the taps, except cos he hasn't played or trained during preseason, we weren't winning it out of the centre.

Plus the last quarter went for about 35 minutes...

when u win after the siren after being 35 points down in the 3rd quarter, don't think that will set ur whole season up.

i think both sacred heart and assumption have lost some high quality talent...not sure who assumption have lost but shc lost danny meyer, john hinge, jack juniper (AFL) and tom reddon, corey fitzgerald, brad sugars (State u/18).. Still have sam elliott last yrs medal winner and ged kenny.. some new faces including a towering ruckman and some quality recruits from other schools... Aaron Day, who kickced the winning goal after taking a mark in the goal square, is still dominating.. SHC wil be short and light but play a high possesion game.

Does Marcus Webb and Tyson ____ still play??? And Jesse Sylver is good but was well held by SHC full back who is keen to do it again this year...

tombo... one player on oakleigh! big flipping deal... one unimportant player might i add. If a team is leading by 35 points during any match and lose, then they deserve to lose, to drop a game like that is ridiculous.

yeah your right mate. any team that is up by 35 points during a game should win it and need to have a look at their game plan if they do lose. but seriously, some people are so quick to judge people on this website. if one person says someones good, theres about 2-3 guys that just bag the crap out of them..
