A quarter final appearance in an ATP 250 event actually feels like a real breakthrough for current Dominic Thiem.
Yeah good to see him finally get a couple wins on the board at this 250 event. I only watched until the end of the 2nd set but his movement still looked a bit inconsistent, but hopefully he can stay on the court for a good stretch and really get back to the level he was at.

Kyrgios has withdrawn from Atlanta, late decision.

Kokkinakis smashed by some nobody.

Kokk was horrendous today. couldn't keep the ball in the court

Well done to Alex for his win in Atlanta :thumbsu: and to Nick and Thanasi for winning the doubles :thumbsu: :thumbsu:

Alex had some gutsy wins, coming back from a set down a couple of times in his matches.

Atlanta just looks like a brutal place to play tennis with the heat/humidity

Jack Sock is astonishingly fat for a professional tennis player. 4 years of wildcards to every US tournament and most majors and still can't get back into the top 100. Might be time to give up on singles.

There are a couple of events in North America in the lead up to the US Open in a few weeks. One of the American commentators was singing the praises of how healthy and competitive US Men's Tennis is, suggesting it is returning to what it used to be prior to the era of Fed, Nadal and Djoker. He named all their players in the Top 100.

There are three matches in progress atm, all involving an American. God it would be funny if they all lose, especially considering Kyrgios knocked out Americans in rounds one and two also.

Yeah, really healthy :laughv1:
