Cutting it a bit close :p

I hate game bets in tennis.

You are barracking for Hewitt to close out the second set after Ilhan gets 4 games.

Then you watch in horror as Hewitt almost beats Ilhan 6-1 in the 3rd set which would have lost your bet.

Even after you picked the (relatively) close match correctly ;)

Hilarious comment on F Lopez. The guy is your typical serve and volley with no backhand to speak of. Will probably lose 70% of long rallies on a clay court

Great bet, i saw that this morning and when i saw your post i thought i better get on it.

Lleyton always has a cold period in a match, esp on clay where he lost 1set of his first match at Monte Carlo 6-1

This is funny - one of the biggest plunges of the year sees Nicolas Lapentti's odds drop from 3.10 to 1.80 on the back of a suspected 'stomach virus' to opponent Jurgen Melzer. Result - Melzer wins 6-3 6-3 and punters lose an absolute fortune. :p

I was wondering what happened there

The dead set lock would have been Nadal to take out the tournament imo. But he has now withdrawn which opens it up and leaves a massive hole in his side of the draw for David Ferrer to make the semis. He is in good form and made the semis last week on clay only to lose to Nadal. Can get $6.20 for him on Betfair at the moment, he has come in a lot since Rafas withdrawal obviously but still a decent price.

Here is the draw here.

Wouldn't call him your typical serve and volley player but yes his no claycourt player.

That's Jurgen Melzer for you.

Verdasco @ $1.27 vs. Gasquet is good money, think he will win easy.
Ferrero @ $1.06 vs Stakhovky
Ferrer @ $1.12 vs Granollers
Gonzales $1.10 vs no namer
Tsonga $1.15 vs Hajek

"Fernando Verdasco and Richard Gasquet will be doing battle for the ninth time in their careers when they meet in the second round of the Barcelona Open BancSabadell on Wednesday. Their head-to-head series is all tied up at four apiece, but Gasquet has taken three of four clay-court encounters."

That sounds kinda dangerous, I think I'll pass on this one.

Yes, but looking at the past matches, Verdasco has won the last 4 between the two (1 on clay, 3 on hard) and all in straight sets bar 1.

Gasquet won the first 4 matches these two ever played (from 2004-2007), and from there, Gasquet has gone down hill while Verdasco has gone up.

IMO Verdasco will win, 6-4 6-3 or there abouts

PARIS -- French tennis player Richard Gasquet has acknowledged he's been told he tested positive for cocaine but says he's innocent.

This guy sounds awesome.

This guy sounds awesome.

Apparently he ingested trace amounts after a night with a lass in a Miami club.

Or something like that.

Gonzalez what a joke.
6-4 6-7 6-3 to a guy that hasn't even turned pro yet

Thats why betting on really short odds in crappy events is suicide sometimes... Gonzalez would have less motivation to win this match compared to his opponent who is trying to break into the top 100 by getting as far as he can in the tournament in his home town
