The ones I feel sorry for are those who got taken in by the BS story of hers and have donated money for her legal fees via the fundraising website.

How is that going by the way? Can you undonate?

Like siphon the money out? looooool

Says she could be found guilty of "not reviewing her luggage"

Nice to see Pretty white woman syndrome is alive and well with this story. Had she been unattractive, black/asian Aussie or even a man we'd never hear it.

True, although I don't think race or attraction enter the argument.

The pro-feminism in the mainstream media cannot be denied.

Just look at the lack of coverage regarding women killing kids, where a woman is almost always portrayed as a victim under psychological stress in comparison to hype surrounding men killing women, where the man is almost always portrayed as the personification of evil.

Really?
So many times media talk about a man killing his partner / family as "totally out of character" (unless he's muslim of course)

Main lesson learned here is if you are trying to smuggle charlie back from SA, make sure your ticket purchases don't look suss
+ make sure you have a vaguely believable story (I thought they were *oddly shaped and not consistently sized* headphones)

The misinformation from her sister in putting up the go fund me page was an instant red flag, claiming she was a CFA volunteer (not for 3 years).

If you're going to come up with a lie, it should at least make sense. If she said she met someone in Colombia who had a friend back in Australia who she was going to give the mystery packages to, that would at least have a little logic to it. Why on earth would someone in Colombia give her packages of cocaine and tell her it was headphones with no way to retrieve the items at the other end?

When I was travelling across South America, I was in the Uyuni area near the border of Bolivia and Chile. Our guide we telling us of the shootouts with police and military combatting drug runners who can move hundreds of kilos at a time with less risk than trying to fly it out of the airports (that's where the idiots / sacrificial lambs go). Needless to say I didn't make enquiries in to Bolivian marching powder.
