I like the look of this Carlos Alcaraz young gun.

Same weak quarter of the draw as Berrettini.

Only 18yo but already has hard court wins over Tsitsipas, Murray and even our boy Berrettini.

Made it the quarter finals of the US Open last year before retiring injured.

$42 is worth a nibble, I've taken a bite.

If he and Berrettini meet in the 4th round then at least I'll have one lad in the quarter finals :thumbsu:

Unfortunately they are scheduled to meet in the 3rd round

Well he was slow out of the yard, but the Italian bullet train is up and going, easily accounting for the Jap American wonder kid on his way to Second Round Station.

Kokk must be tired... Bloke has played 24 sets in the past 2 weeks and his body can break down at any moment. I'll take a punt on the German @ $4
I think Kokk wins , he has too much momentum and I think being on court more in recent weeks is an advantage on the Australian slams.

It would be a good summer for Kokk , if he can get to the 2nd round and pinch at least a set off Nadal.

wowiee well done to the guy who got on Hanfmann at $4

didnt see this coming

Really common for guys/girls who win a tourny before a slam to lose in r1.

They are tired and would just be resting, whereas their opponents have heaps of time to prepare.

Well done to whoever got on.

oh my what happen to Jelena Dokic post-retirement?

Hardcore depression after being raised by a monster.
I think she wrote a book about her problems (inc weight gain).

She's done pretty well for herself all things considered.
I'd eat a hundred hamburgers a day if that scumbag was my old man too!

She is an excellent commentator- incredibly insightful

Fair enough, Tomic too had problems as a kid growing up with strict parents.

It was a bit of tongue in cheek, and I can understand how some kids that grow up with tiger parents end up being a bit wacko but it being a largely brought upon by their upbringing.

Think we are seeing a different Jelena to the one being controlled by her father.

Don't want to derail the train, but I watched him a bit yesterday.
Medical time-out in the 3rd set and straight into his bag of pills.
Won't go deep.
FWIW,my first and last bet on tennis
