Some of Tennis Australia's decisions over the years haven't enhanced the tournament despite what they might think.
Starting the tournament on a Sunday only leads to a thin schedule, which you've mentioned. There was always something exciting about it starting on Monday, but now it feels anti-climatic.
Playing the two Men's SFs on the Friday is another grievance. It was better when it was Thursday night and Friday night and the women's SFs were played on the Thursday afternoon.
The fifth set tiebreak. We'll never see another contest similar to the classics of Roddick vs El Aynaoui (2002), Federer vs Safin (2005) or Djokovic vs Wawrinka (2013).

It would probably been better if the two main courts started play earlier. I must admit I like having it start on Sunday like the French as I woke full time and wouldn't be able to watch any tennis until after 5pm. MCA court two day matches I would of had these as the night matches. Looks like Barbora has woken up after taking the second set. I'm liking Sweeny's play against the Argentine.
