True.

AFL mids are averaging 190cms now and seems all the Tennis players we have are the shorter types with no real weapons to their game apart from being a scrapper and feeding off the mistakes their opponents give them.

The Demon is in the same boat and while i love him he just has no real weapons at his size and the taller high ranked players in grand slams will slaughter him.

If you're good enough at sport to make a living from it you have to look at what the best option is. For many young men it is AFL (or NRL I suppose) for lots of reasons. The tennis tour is not for the fainthearted when you are a young Aussie trying to make a living on the tour which is mostly on the other side of the world.

I think I read some years ago you really need to be in the top 100 (of the world) to make a decent living in tennis, you only need to be in the top 300 in golf. For Aussie Rules it's top 400 or so in Australia only. Then there is cricket and all the T20 comps around the world. Unless you really love tennis I don't think it's a very attractive option for elite Aussie sports people these days.
