$104 Concession tomorrow

On SM-S921B using BigFooty.com mobile app
We didn’t go to RLA but RLA was $219 concession first night and for adults $290 we couldn’t afford it. Now it’s second week and it’s cheap as but I know why bc there’s less games but you’re seeing quality players so it should be more, doesn’t make sense at all.

Night session is still massively expensive, but day session tomorrow is cheap for some reason? I was hoping ADM would play and could sneak in, but night tickets start at $200 for restricted view kids.

I think it's because tickets haven't sold so they are reducing the prices for that session to try and sell tickets. I remember a few years back we bought tickets for the Women's semi finals. We bought them before the tournament started. On the day of the semi finals, the ticket prices were reduced to less than what we paid for RLA Round 1! I was so pissed off!

The Mens doubles Final needs to be scheduled earlier in the day. The best way to fix TV commitments if the women's final is over early is to schedule a legends or some kind of exhibition. That way you can modify the length of the game depending on how long the Womens final takes.

If need be you could even schedule one in between the men's doubles and women's final and modify it depending on the length of the men's doubles final.

I don't think it would effect TV ratings that much late on the Saturday night and could increase the day ratings.

Just like Women’s doubles today.
Agree, it’s better for attendance to come early and have tennis playing prior to the final.

Could Have the Men's and Women's Doubles Sunday afternoon as a double header. Could sell tickets for that event at RLA. Then clear the venue for the men's.

Women's final Saturday night and Men's final Sunday night stand alone games.

Thankfully that's all over for another year, Melbourne takes another hit as crowds acted like petulant children. It might be time for this event to held elsewhere? It's a strange place these days.
The Victorian Government and Tennis Australia have a contract for the Australian Open to take place at Melbourne Park until at least the end of 2039 (signed in 2021)

Tiley throwing around the idea of a Saturday start in the future so the tournament has three full weekends.

Not sure how that would work. I guess round 2 played over 3 days.

He also mentioned the cost of temporary infrastructure.

He hasn't said this but linking the two together, I wonder if gets the extra day and a couple more permanent show courts similar to say court 3 if he could do away with the 'outside courts'.

You really only need limited seating on those courts for juniors and wheelchair games. He would say he is saving costs, essentially it would be for TV and a nother day of ticket sales.

Gosh I wish there could be someone else in charge of the AO. For me I don't think the AO was great this year with a few exceptions. Maddison Keys winning her first GS, the women's doubles was brilliant and a couple of 18 year olds lighting up the courts in Fonesca and Thien. Mirra didn't play great but give her another couple of years on the tour. For me I would have the ladies doubles and singles on Saturday and the men's doubles and singles on Sunday. A few years ago going to AO was on my bucket list not anymore. Could not handle the cost of everything, people really not interesting in the tennis only there to drink and who could afford to have more than one or two drinks.

I wish Tiley would step aside before he does any more damage.

Yeah Tiley, you can stuff it with your saturday start. Lets not just start the Aus Open at the start of Jan and get rid of all the warm up events...

I hate Sunday starts. Saturday would drag the first 2 rounds even longer.

He should heed the listen of the 2-week masters tournaments.

I find it difficult to understand how anyone can really be that supportive of what this year's tournament brought us all? Precious players whose ego is greater than their talent, player petulance, dubious crowd behaviour, it was ridiculously expensive and i question that Australia's reputation of hosting the "Happy Slam" took a big hit this year?
