on a more positive note, Hadfield had 3 good wins today against a team who was in division 1 Northern league last year. 1sts by 7 points despite kicking twice as many points as goals and the Reserves and 18's both by roughly 20 goals! GO HAWKAS!

You are a ******** mate. Current tulla coach very happy where he is and happy to be working with a great bunch of blokes and some quality under 18s. i can assure you that no effort was made to return to Glenroy and i doubt there ever will be. I am tipping the players that have left tulla are more to do with the past regime than the new one.
wouldnt matter if he did want to come back. Glenroy wouldnt accept him back nor would the supporters.

abuse is not the answer.the facts stand.the bloke did not put in for the glenroy job.left the club in the lerch. Still has not contacted the gfc to let them know of his intentions ..applied for two other positions and took what he thought was the plum job...over 20 blokes said goodbye to there club and he now is finding it a little tough..from what i know i believe he is a little upset with his decision making and so are tulla...only the facts please..and if any of these comments are not fact please let me know...i have been told that hes not a bad coach but is an ordinary person

SO AFTER GIVING YOU OVER A WEEK TO REPLY TO ALL POINTS ABOVE I CAN NOW ASSUME THAT EVERYTHING I HAVE STATED IS CORRECT

Got to say I find all this Tulla/Manning/Glenroy saga endlessly entertaining. To the best of my knowledge Glenroy had not played in A FINAL since the '97 grand final before Manning was appointed. This great club had been a cellar dweller for a decade before he took over. First year 2007... they recruited a few and glenroy played finals. second year ash recruited another 4-5 on top of the 4-5 he brought the year before and they won a flag. I am sure any player who played under ash would probably tell you the man can coach. Mick McGuane couldn't have done better and certainly not with the cattle they had last year.

I dont know why people at Glenroy would be bitter at all. Good coaches can be devisive because the demand more from people to achieve more. There is no such thing as a coach who is best mates with everyone. And if he was asked to re-apply for a job that was already his then its the same as saying "we want to go in a different direction".

I can speak from experience in saying that i would rather someone tell me how it is than piss in my pocket or go along with something that is wrong. Seems like a lot of pent up hostility towards someone who brought success to a seriously success starved club. I hope the roys bounce back this year.... from the looks of things they have been fortunate with a few recruits but everyone needs a bit of luck. Just seems bizarre that they decided to spend the money now after they got relegated. They dont give you flags. Anyway, this all means nothing now... both clubs have moved on to new things. Bring on Round 2

i believe that the only bitterness involved here is from ash manning.after he decided to take the tulla job apparently he sent quite a few dirty messages to a couple of the committee -both of who are decent people -bagging the glenroy committee-the club and several of the players....i wonder if those messages will ever surface...and if i can just pick you up on one point..when ash got blokes to glenroy it was good recruiting but now that they have gone out and recruited some quality players its called good luck----how does that work...nobody said he was a bad coach but you may want to investigate the other issue of what sort of a person he is.....mercenary is not a word only for players

JACK... i was purely referring to the fact Kite chose to go back home, therefore leading to Dulic staying and turning down a very decent wage at Keilor (and believe me he was gone). Also that was a factor to the Hadfield boys jumping on board. No malice in my words but fortune is a thing that all clubs need. Glenroy will be hard to beat if they gel. I think this is all irrelevant now anyway. I am sure the Roys will be salivating at the chance to knock Tulla off and vice versa. Cant wait for it.

Are they the same supporters that were there cheering and celebrating the 08 flag????? Or did they stay home and boycott the game????? You are a goose
Yes they are, but after what he did. There is no way in hell the commitee or the supporters would let him back in the club. I can tell you now , he will cop a spray and a half from glenroy first match. He better be prepared or maybe he should bring ear muffs.

Any one tell me how Taylors Lakes went against St Albans (Geelong) on Saturday. Did all the new recruits play & how did they perform?

As the old saying goes, " He who laughs last, laughs loudest".
I think people better not underestimate tulla, especially round 1 when the glenroy team is still trying to gel, otherwise Ash might be the one who gets the oppurtunity to give his baggers an earful.

Can we please now get off this topic and stick to the footy, otherwise there will just keep being a thousand different versions of events and opinions going round and its giving me a bigger headache than the one i got on the weeknd.

Love him or hate him, Ash is a premiership player and coach of the club and nothing in the world is ever going to change that,he will always be part of Glenroy F.C history, and thats FACT.

P.S Go the ROYS

Taylors lakes went down by 5-6 goals in a pretty hard fought game. They certainly showed St Albans a thing or two about contested ball and how to get loose through the back. It was only a point the difference at 3/4 time.
Fitness looked an issue for the TL boys for the last stanza and it certainly proved correct.
Having no knowledge of outs for TL, St albans were far from full strength with weddings, stupid cricket finals, and a few injured boys being rested.
Overall a pretty good game by TL and they represented their club very well.
Their twos won by around 8 goals and unders by around 20 goals.

The word around the traps was that TLFC had a great pre-season and they were the fittest they have ever been. If fitness was an issue, that would be a big concern. Or were they just beaten by a better quality opponent? Have they improved on the skill level and how did the new recruits play on saturday?

Taylors did run out of legs but that was mainly due to only having 16 fit blokes after 1/4 time. A couple of guys carried injuries into the game and played to get miles into the legs before easter and there were a few injuries in the first 1/4. Midfield rotations suffered severely from this and was multiplied by the fact that de sousa, morelli and hutchison all didnt play.
That said the opposition did finish very strongly and all credit to them for being the better team on the day.
As for recruits nick played his first game and was impressive as was big luca in the ruck and up forward. Tails and longo also built on last weeks game with solid performances. The 3 u/18s guys also improved on the previous weeks game which is a good sign.
All in all there were many positives to be taken out of the loss and the lakers will be looking forward to their next game against avondale.

Why would the coaching staff play injured players 3 weeks out from the first round? Surely that would have been an opportunity to play some fringe or other U18 players. The benefit of gaining extra kms in the legs is far outwieghed by the chance of making the injury worse, or haven't the hierarchy learnt from the past? Has the overall skill level of the playing group improved with the new recruits compared to the last few years and the players the club has let go? That will be the difference between TL and the better sides this year, and not fitness

i would say that the players would have told the coaches that they were right to play, there were other injured players who didnt play so it was not as if the coaches were forcing them out there. There was already a number of 18s players playing to gain experience.

As for the skills, they were good in patches but there is still room for improvement.

What is your prediction for Lakers 2010. Will they improve from 2009 or will they slide down the ladder after what they lost lakers- in- 08

saw on the clearances the Balraj Singh is leaving Airport West

Whats to go here, did he get offered more money elsewhere

ROCK07 whats the news with this one?

We though APW were going to be the big movers this year

lakers in 08, I hope that is not the case and the TL coaching staff has a better handle on their player management, and that the injuries were not a result of the extensive running program over the summer. Surely there were some reserves players that could have been given an opportunity to play. I know it is very early days, but from what you have seen, has the skill set level of the current list improved with the new recruits, compared to previous years? Which of the U18 players will play regular senior football and has the club got the depth to carry it forward?

Hadfield football Club are looking to play one last practice match on April 10 before season start. If there is any club interested in having one last hit out could you please contact me ( Rob ) on 0407511606......
Will are keen to have our 18s, Seniors and reserves play on the day!

i doubt there would be much more than bad luck in the injuries, the running has been solid but so has the recovery.
All of the new recruits have high skill levels so you could assume that the skill level will go up with them being added to the side.
As for the 18s, even though they won the flag last year i dont think many will play games during the season because of the current depth of the senior squad. danny younan would probably play if he is not playing for the jets and the other 2 that played on the weekend could very easily play games during the year but i wouldnt pencil them in yet.

As for my prediction, top 3 should be a pass mark for the season.

I will also be joining him at APW and we will both be doing everything we can to take the club up to Divvy 1 for 2011 which will be the clubs 50th anniversary. We are not here just to make up the numbers expect APW to be a masssive force in 2010.

My original response to this post was "whatever". I stand by that comment....;)

Well to be honest i still stand by my comments, if Balraj is there or not.
He is still in two minds at the moment and has a contract with APW so hopefully he sticks to it, everyone at the club still wants him there, if he does decide to leave though i'm still very confident we will be very competitive with all top sides.....3 late recruits will be very handy!!
