Re: Ballarat Football League

darley has a bridge, a plaza, a roundabout, a brick refinery, 10 night clubs, a golf course, a gorge, slogga's house, a bald hill, a david jones store, and a beach, and dont forget deb's shop.
gordon has you, meh

And the supermarket has an amazing range of salad dressing. It's true, I was there last night. I turned to my friend Petey and said "Wow, Petey, would you look at all that salad dressing!" He didn't say anything. He didn't have to - the look of unbridled exhilliration on his face said it all.

So next time you're around, pop in for some salad dressing and why not watch a game of football. The kids will love it and the wife will love you for it. Darley has been good to me and it will be good to you too.

Re: Ballarat Football League

Word on the street is Jordan is leaving the Lions due to Sunbury wanting to play the kids in 09. He was the captain of the club and has knocked back an offer to remain at Sunbury as he has recieved a better offer from his old club up the road. Keeps on jumping from club to club to increase the pay packet. No wonder they got beaten in the first final with the likes of Little and Jordan leaders of the club.

KA and his dribble at its best. Little and Jordan would be welcomed at any club for their leadership and personal qualities. As for money, didn't all powers mates leave because they were asked to take a pay cut for the club? Now they are supposed to be coming back on less money? You are a fat fool!!!!!!!!!!

Good to see you get all your facts right. Jordan as captain never attended functions and kept putting his hand out for more money for things like phones and to have his phone bills paid so he could commincate with the players. Powers mate left because power left and they got big offers from other clubs. Nice try you ballarat window licker your now showing how limited your IQ is.

And how successful have sunbury been under power and his cronies? I would also question players who leave like a tide with the moon to follow a coach. Isn't it the club you play for? Have another doughnut my friend!!!

Raak returns to Melton in senior coach role

PREMIERSHIP player Marc Raak returns to Melton as the club's senior coach in the Ballarat Football League next season.
Raak was delighted with his appointment.
"I played all my juniors and seniors (at Melton) and finished with back-to-back premierships (in 2000 and 2001)," he said.
Raak began his coaching career as an assistant with the Melton club, before spreading his wings and gaining further experience in Melbourne.
In 2005, the 38-year-old took up an assistant coaching role with the Werribee Tigers in the VFL.
The following year he moved to the Western Bulldogs in the AFL to work on game-day match-ups alongside former Richmond player Chris Bond.
Raak is hoping his VFL and AFL experience will be a valuable asset for The Bloods.
"I hope that (AFL experience) brings a professional side to the footy club, and also things I learned at Werribee in training," he said.
The last two seasons were spent in coaching roles with the Prahran Football Club in the Victorian Amateurs league.
Also returning to Melton is his dual-premiership coach Dallas Normington.
"It's great to have him on board. We worked well together before and I believe we will do so again," Raak said.
And despite only being appointed late Tuesday night, the move has already begun to lure new players.
"I'm looking to bring four or five blokes to the club. We want to keep everyone and build on (former coach) Simon Payne's last two years."
Melton president Mick Williams was looking forward to the season ahead, but was giving nothing away about player recruitment. "We'll just play it by ear and see what happens," he said.

They made the Grand Final in 07 under Power - they were beaten by a Redan side that would have smashed this years Ballarat side by 10+ goals. The league dropped by 20% and that is the only reason you had a shot to win it. This year should be deleted from the record books.

And Power has 4 BFL premiership medals.

Back to middle of the road for you in 09. Lick other window my friend!!!

Re: Ballarat Football League

well if it is true that the standard of the league dropped by 20% then how good were sunbury this year?? i think you should look at your own backyard firstly. Admitably so Ballarat weren't the best side in it and they will be the first to admit it, but you still got to win them pal

League dropped by 20% and Sunbury dropped by 30%.

Re: Ballarat Football League

Don't concern yourself with KA. One day he may write something which is worthwhile reading.

Well done to Melton. Good to see some positive news come out after a disappointing year. Any melton boys views?

Worthwhile?? Like what? Like the time I watched Northey curl up into a ball and start sucking his thumb after getting sacked from Richmond? Is this what a boring gudgeon like your self would find worthwhile??

Great to see the big man back. We should improve, but we will just have to wait and see.

KA will Mark and Matt power come to blows at xmas day again this year. Matt is coaching Riddell and they will both be trying to get the likes of kegga and the lobbs to play for themalong with a few others no doubt.

I have aleady herd serge has poached a couple of good young kids from Riddell before demon got the job, surely demon wont be clearing them to play under serge.
Can you tell me who will win the fight.

Re: Ballarat Football League

Re: Ballarat Football League

Young gun forward James Petran signed with Sunbury earlier this week, making it five confirmed signings from Riddell.

James Climas, James Petran, Lee James, Peter Robertson and Aaron Blade.

.
If sunbury dropped 30% in performance this year then i doubt they are gunna improve much picking up players from a weaker league, anyone agree?

Will be interesting to see how these kids do perform in the Ballarat FL.. But clubs shouldn't be taking them lightly.. Robertson, Petran and Climas are very talented youngsters... :thumbsu:

I know next to nothing about the ex-Riddell boys but yes I wouldn't think that pouching from a side in a weaker competition could be called textbook recruiting. Ultimately the proof in in the pudding and we'll know more by the end of September

How many years did Power play for Sunbury in the BFL. this year he was at Riddell.
Surely people should know he would have ability to know the diffence between somebody who would be up to the standard and and who wouldn't.
With the offers i have heard that have been made, he must think these boys will boost Sunburys chances at a flag.

Re: Ballarat Football League

I would say Sunbury will be very happy at the moment with over 50 players turning up to the first night of pre season, with the majority being part of the senior group. A substantial increase from last pre season with 11 players turning up the first night with 7 or so of them being U18's. Shows how much influence a coach can make on players.

Re: Ballarat Football League

Eastern Swans Football Club Mackay Queensland, is looking for a senior coach and players. The Swans finished runners up in last years Mackay AFL competition.

Mackay is a booming mining city, which services the Bowen basin. Great work opportunities available.

If interested, call Troy Stephens on 0434 593 762 or send a private message to me (loopyboots).
