Class BigFooty cop-out.

I don't think this tripe fools anyone.

If someone doesn't know what they're talking about, you should be able to shut down their argument with consumate ease.

If you argue with idiots they will bring you down to there level and beat you with experience.:)

That should be pretty obvious to any one with any cricket knowledge. :thumbsu:
Is this the best you can do?

Nobody reading this is going to be persuaded by this drivel. For it to work, people would need to be already convinced that you're an expert and that your opinions carry some weight.

That's not the case.

It's embarrassing watching you deploy what you think is a scintillating rhetorical tactic, when in fact it's just moronic, try-hard piffle.

If someone is so clueless, you should be able to refute their argument comprehensively. But you can't even scratch the surface. It's painfully transparent - get some new material.

Yeah, great. I've seen that poster's signature as well.

Have you got anything intelligent to say?

What about if you try to argue with someone much smarter than you?

Will they pull your petty, derivative arguments to shreds and make you look like a fool?

That's what's happening to you in this thread.

Who gives a toss what you think.

You asked, so I answered.

If you bowl that quick you can go for a few, especially if you're a really attacking bowler always looking for wickets.

That should be pretty obvious to any one with any cricket knowledge. :thumbsu:

I base whether someone should be in the team on results, not how fast they can bowl.

I will not argue with you because clearly you don't know what you're talking about.

The fact is his record is 213 wickets at 31.85 of 55 matches.

Do you think repeating the same statistic is an intelligent or effective response?

Do you think by claiming telling me 'you don't know what you're talking about', you've somehow dealt with my point?

Is this the best you can muster? Surely you're not that inadequate.

Who cares if he averages 32, the reason he averages that much is because of his extreme speed.

Akhtar is just as fast averages 25
Ambrose was fast averaged 21
Holding was fast averaged 23
Marshal was fast averaged 21
Thomson was fast averaged 28

I can't help noticing a few people think Ponting is a great captain all of a sudden.
Some of them always claimed he was, probably defended the decision to bowl last year but what do you expect? Tasmanians have never had anyone good come from there so of course they will never see Ponting as anything less than a god

Edward, move on, it is childish to keep bringing up the decision last year as justification to call ponting a bad captain.

FFS, it was 15 months ago.

Your comment about Tasmanians is quite childish and one reason why not many people respect you on these boards.

You seem to resort to the lowest common denominator in a lot of your posts.

I respect him, I don't respect you though.
p.s. I found the bit about Tasmanians quite funny actually. You need to get over yourself.

Maybe he is a great captain ...perhaps you should check out his record ???

You have proven post after post that you struggle to understand the basics of cricket ...I now place you alongside eddie smith and just maybe as posters who let their petty bias's affect their judgement.

Lee has done enough to retain his test spot.
Ponting is the best option for captaining this country.

Your posts don't make a lot of sense BluesMan. Any bias I have is in favour of Ponting, not against him. It is you who is biased, unable to see fault in your fellow Tasmanian.

Since when does record define a good captain tactically?

What an astounding comment.

Stephen Fleming must be rolling over on his glacier.

Considering you act like a newbie and say 'OMG CHECK PONTINGS RECORD BEST CAPTAIN EVER!', you can't really comment.

Isn't it enough I consider him a captain who leads from the front, a good leader of men and a brilliant batsman? Suddenly I'm not good enough because I think he's not a good captain tactically?

Sorry, but that makes you the one letting the petty bias affect you - you attack me because you can't handle any criticism of Ponting.

Lee has done enough to retain his test spot.

Averaging 46 against England? Nice one.

Ponting is the best option for captaining this country.

Warne and Gilchrist and the majority of cricket commentators in this country might have something to say about that.
