BF2 Wake was one of the best maps in BF history. Pity you missed it.

I don't mind that
I played a lot of Forgotten Hope 2, where the only way to spot was to have a kit with binoculars (which snipers & officers had by default) - and sniper rifles were few and far between.
You could also spot from vehicles or gun emplacements, but the regular soldier couldn't spot accurately
It meant sniping was more observe/spot first and shooting second. Plus the map wasn't saturated with snipers/scouts - maybe 2-3 per team actually active as snipers

Yeah a dumpster fire, the Beta confirmed my thoughts.
First Battlefield I'm not buying since BC2.
Dice can jam it this time.

B1 is amazing. Seems to have picked back up.
My favourite Battlefield and MP shooter in general since COD4.
I'm not really optimistic at all for BFV after playing the horrible beta but fingers crossed for a game that can at least hold us out until the next gen.

Honestly are these assmonkeys doing their marketing completely backwards?
All of these maps look ten times better than the filthy snail trail we've been dishes up so far.
I'm almost back on the fence on buying this now....

Yeah I was keen on this game when they announced it. Since then the marketing has been horrible and they seem to have pissed off a large number of series fans so I haven't been nearly as keen.
Still like the look of the game, just wonder if there will be a big player base.
I can only assume the maps were still being worked on quite heavily till recently. People are always going to find something to cry about, may as well keep the crying contained to something that'll never end up in the final game. Making major changes to maps that'll feature in the final release is just asking for people to whinge about how the map would have been so much better without the changes.

EA access trial starts on the 9th.
Keen to see what changes they've made since the beta. I was one of the weirdos that liked the snow map so anything better than that is a big plus.
I just hope it's not dull and dumbed down for the casual audience like BF1 was. BC2 and BF4 is where the series peaked for me.

My lingering worry is they selected the 2 alpha & beta maps as their hero maps like they have in all recent titles. History tells us they will generally be looked at in reflection as the better maps in each title.
Metro & Caspian border. BF3
Siege of Shanghai. BF4
Sinai desert & Amiens. BF1
If what we have seen so far are the hero maps then I don't hold very high hopes for the rest.
Happy to be proven wrong.

Just provide bigger maps that don't force people into each other and actually has interesting landmarks around the map that changes the game play

I dunno I've sunk 100+ hours into Madden and about 40+ into Fifa already. Battlefield to come and Anthem later on. Premier access has been well worth it for me
Plus who are we all kidding, most of us here were going to get it. Even if it is just BF1.5

I thought Sinai was one of the more average maps in BF1. Though, wasn't the other beta map St Quinton's Scar, not Amiens? In which case, proves your point as that was probably one of the best BF maps in a long while.
