Off-topic Bay Survivor - 2018 Edition - KINKSHAME ISLAND - Congratulations Sainter3and7

we are just left with Sainter3and7 and boydshow, the two most unlikely of finalists
Normally I would get the former entrants to act as judges for this challenge and issue a Q and A style challenge, but most of the former contestants have not been seen for sometime as Bombers03 won't let them out to play and the Melbourne boys are too busy on the slopes to help out. So it will be up to Dinsdale, Brain Power and myself to determine the winner of this
"but most of the former contestants have not been seen for sometime"

Whats this rubbish?
By 'most' you mean Vesty and Skipjack.

Jose, Morganashlee and hufus as well, so half then, plus we all know Dinsdale is already voting either way. Plus it doesn't hurt to change things up instead of the exact same challenge every year.

hufus was 'last seen' about two hours ago and I think morgs is online right now.

However its your caper and I doubt any of the voted off contestants really have any scores to settle with Sainter or Boydshow.

I don't really care either way, if you want to vote, I am happy to change it. It was originally off-the-cuff remark anyway re missing posters.

CHALLENGE 10 - FINAL

I did this competition mainly to have a bit of a laugh, and to maybe start to know people here a little better. I have posted for a long time, but my posts are mainly just one-liners, so I really haven’t had anyone I regularly talk to. I read one of @hufus’ posts that said he’d wanted to be in the Survivor competition for a long time, and I had felt the same way. For a number of years, my health was pretty precarious and I was reluctant to sign up for something that could last two weeks and not be well enough to complete it. Anyway, this year, I was doing better and I have been able to get through it and have really enjoyed it enormously.

I would have liked to have seen more from morgs, cause someone who is funny enough to publicly announce they are going to put their hands on the Copeland and then actually do it has a lot to contribute to a competition like this. Similarly, jose was at his convention, so he and I never got to talk.

There were a lot of funny moments in this thread. I genuinely laughed at Snake Baker’s post where he provided a team name/motto/song. Through that, I got a new favourite song (Can you quack like a duck?). I look forward to the time when I go to a karaoke night with friends and get up to sing and dance to this one. I also laughed uncontrollably when I read Bloody-Nine’s picture of Bombres2003 eating the remains of Snake_Baker. I pissed myself when I was reading Max’s Wikipedia edits that smoothly inserted “pencildick” into a discussion of Survivor. I was sad to see Max go, and genuinely hope that whatever was going on that meant he had to withdraw sorts itself out.

One of the things that I didn’t expect to get out of this competition was new skills. I actually learned how to put captions onto a video – thanks for the link, Kangaroos4eva. I hadn’t known how to attach files and gifs and those kinds of things on here either. And I’d never created an alias! I was so incompetent at it, I actually changed my Sainter3and7 name to MaxyisKing instead of creating an alias. I had to ask the mods to allow me to change back to my real name. Thankfully they did and it’s fixed now.

Because of this competition, I want to learn how to do Photoshop. It looks hard, so I’ve never tried it. But so many of you use it in a way that makes your posts really funny, so I am going to try to learn that if I can.

I really enjoyed the humour and enthusiasm that Harry000 also brought to the thread. He was really active in the discussions, especially early in the comp and I think that made it a lot more fun. He also didn’t just post his own responses – he engaged with others, his responses included them, had made jokes about aliases with them, and so on. As someone who was coming in fresh and didn’t really know how to participate in the comp, I learned a lot. Thanks.

I was a bit worried when it came down to Skipjack, Vesty and myself. I was fairly certain that cause I don’t personally know anyone here that they would just vote me off. So it was a nice surprise to continue, albeit because Skipjack lived up to the team motto of ‘CBF.’ And then Vesty didn’t seem as involved in this competition as I did. It didn't come as a secret - from the beginning he said “Yeah, I’m in but I’m not doing much.” (On the other hand, I talked about it to family and friends, and my doctors… I really need to get a life).

And the shocking revelation of aliases in the last round will undoubtedly be remembered forever on the Bay. Two names? Seems a bit greedy – like when you and your mate meet these smoking hot twins and then he goes home with both of them.

I hadn’t been involved in Survivor before, and I got better at it as I went on. I think Wonka was on fire from the beginning. I learned a lot from what he did. Thanks.

Boydshow, people have said we were the two most unlikely posters to get to the final. Congratulations in making it to the end!

Anyway, this is the most I’ve actually interacted with people on the Bay in the five years I’ve been on here. Thanks for the experience. I hope that people will know me a little more and feel free to chat with me in future!

TL/DR: I’M A GANGSTA, SO VOTE FOR ME AND NO ONE GETS HURT.

Challenge #10 Entry

If I didn't have a big enough target on my back, being the Bay's resident pain in the arse, sexual predator, autistic, wannabe moderator - I certainly made sure of it by attacking both harry000 and Bloody_Nine in my first challenge entry. Multiple players gave me the heads up it was all over, that I would be the first out for the second Survivor in a row, so I started apologising for the hurt that was caused and saying my goodbyes

That I somehow made it through that and all the way to the end, is why I am the clear choice for sole survivor

Everyone loves Sainter3and7, including me, and I would love for him to win it. But it was definitely me that had to work harder to keep myself in the game, with my challenge entries, alliances and strategic conversations

I was in 4 alliances - with just Wonka and also with Wonka, B9, Harry, Vesty, Sainter and Skipjack from the start, then with Sainter, and when the tribes were made with my tribe mates Wonka, B9, Harry and Gawnage. My alliance mates were the most committed to the game and dominated the challenges, and the strategic plays

Just like I said in my first challenge entry, @JoseMourinho, Snake_Baker and Morganashlee were easy targets and harry000 and Bloody_Nine went under the radar until late. I picked the right side of the alliances, unlike skipjack and RedVest4

Whilst ruthless in my voting, I still played the game with kindness. I gave hufus the heads up that he was next after me, before I survived and it was him instead. I supported MAXIMUM GAWNAGE with his personal issues, and I tried to get William Wonka back into the game after he withdrew himself

My challenge entries were well thought out and entertaining, with my challenge 4 entry inspiring the David Koch theme for challenge 5, and my challenge 7 alias going undetected

Thanks Kangaroos4eva for running this, it has been good fun. I hope to get your vote and be involved again next year

Too much waiting is annoying for everyone, so I will go with the judge's vote. With a 2-1 margin, the 2018 Bay Survivor is Sainter3and7, congratulations, you are the winner of Bay Survivor 2018 - Kinkshame Island Edition. It was a close decision and although boydshow used his MENSA training to get to the final round and survive against all odds, the judges felt that Sainter's overall challenge entries were a tad better than boydshow's in the end.

Thanks for playing everyone, I know the numbers were not really there this year for whatever reason and that did negatively affect the quality of the competition unfortunately, but at least there were quite a few decent challenge entries. I am more than happy to hand this thing back to Starburns_ next year, who has more of a knack for this sort of thing.

I would like to thank the contestants for their efforts as well as the judges Dinsdale and Brain Power for all their help in helping develop some of the challenges and judging most of them.

Congratulations again Sainter, you outflogged them all.

I hope everyone has a merry xmas and holiday period and I wish everyone, bar Duritz, a happy new year.

I am so happy! Thank you so much. I feel like a certified flog. I kinda mentioned it before, but my health has been very very poor for a very long time. I had an horrendous car accident and my Mum said to me for years that I was, and had to be, a survivor. So this competition had a real symbolic meaning for me.

I'd like to thank Kangaroos4eva for running the comp, and also to William Wonka for befriending me. We were complete strangers before this but he has been generous in his friendship.

I want to congratulate you, boydshow. I would have voted for you if I could.

I've had a very rough year, health wise. I've seen three health professionals a week, at least, and often more. So, believe it or not, this is the best thing that has happened to me this year. (Maybe the only good thing, but still... I'll take anything I can get).

You're so honest, optimistic and grateful for what you have, it is inspiring. Well done on winning and hope things improve at home

I really enjoyed chatting and getting to know you as well Sainter, you're a nice bloke as well as a funny campaigner.

These qualities 'honesty', 'optimism' and 'gratitude' of which Boydshow speaks have never been seen before on bay13.

They triumphed easily over the standard suspicion, maliciousness and spite that is the bays lifeblood.

The rest of us never stood a chance.

Get your shoop skillz up to advanced Packedlunch level for next year and back to back is a distinct possibility.
(I know the concept that you can win something more than once is foreign to a Saints fan)
