Well done Hurricanes.

Could this be the year they go all the way.

Really enjoying the Hurricanes bowling line up and strategies used this year.

Meredith (every team needs raw pace)
Stanlake (getting nice bounce)
Ellis (slower balls, death bowling)
Jordan (bowls all the dangerous overs)
Spinner (Hatzoglu dangerous on his day)

McDermott hamstring could be a worry.

The batting line up has gone the complete opposite to what I thought. Wade has struggled while McDermott and David have rediscovered form from a few years ago.

It's an issue for mine if you are already picking Wakim and McDermott could be out for a bit with a hammy. Surely they have to go for a replacement overseas bat for Hope, even if it is just some county level guy.

An Adelaide loss tomorrow and they will become the first team eliminated from BBL 14.

A Perth loss tomorrow means they can't get the Top 2 spot and a chance of playing in the Qualifier. If Perth lose tomorrow and win their last 2 games- their fate relies on other teams doing them favours to make the Finals.
I don't think the canes ultimately win but I was listening to a lot of the commentary going in and no one rated them as even a chance of finals so good effort but at same time their batting lineup at a minimum always meant they were a sniff surely...

Haven't missed a Hurricanes game in years and this team has something. ST only hit x3 4's to the 10 over mark, (would be close to a record) and 13 for the match with no 6's. Bowling all round has been excellent. Wade is the player to watch. Couldn't hit a ball out of the middle the 1st few weeks but is starting too, will do damage with time in the middle. Need some luck with injuries and moments in games but this is the best Hurricanes team since the Short/Wade opening combo was firing.

Why the Thunder power hitters didn't tee off I'll never know. It's like they didn't even bother trying as if it was a tactical decision. They did have the players but 0 sixes hit in comparison to the hurricanes 8-10 sixers.
They need some power hitters. I think the top 4 is already set but Thunder are the most vulnerable. Next match against the Scorchers either locks them in or likely sends them packing

They have had the cornerstone of those players for a while. We always wondered when they would perform as a team. Seems like each individual knows their specific roles to a tee right now. Got the team chemistry going. Losing Shai Hope and the other import Waqar doesnt affect their chances.
