It didn't take long for the hyperbole to come out in the pre-match build up.

"Biggest day in Tasmanian sport" they said.

Maybe - although in cricket alone I'd argue the 78-79 Gillette Cup final win against WA in front of a packed TCA ground in Hobart would be up there. That was an amazing day and an equally amazing win.

Unfortunately, research isn't a big thing in modern commentary.

Jack Simmons was worth his weight in gold for Tassie cricket.

Punter sounds pissed off in commentary lol

I'm pissed off too! The Hurricanes have done every single thing wrong, including having their fielders in the wrong positions from the first ball.

You're 6 overs in, none down, and they're going 10 an over, the priority needs to be a wicket, not trying to keep it to 9 an over.

The leadership is infuriating, it's literally costing them the game at the moment.

I think Jason Richardson just mentioned this on Seven!

Ponting still has an official role with the Hurricanes, yeah?

I wonder if this is proving the folly of dual roles. No point verbally trying to tear arseholes on commentary, get down to the bench and do it physically. Ellis & Wade both need a ****ing rocket.

How many shields? 3 or 4? Worth more than big bash

The worst of the lot is not having a mid off to Hats when the bloke bowls slow in swingers

He’s head of strategy or something along those lines. Wish I could listen through 7 and not Kayo, sadly Mark Waugh doesn’t seem as invested in the Thunder these days.

Yet to bowl a yorker...it's crazy how undervalued this precious skill set is!

I mean, if you had a team that could bowl perfect yorkers, it would make a mockery of cricket. Lmao
