Was over for the game on the weekend and thought that having BBQ's pre-game was a great idea. How long has it bee happening? Would be great if it happened over here in Perth. but I would highly doubt that.

As long as I can remember I have seen BBQ's out in the carpark befre the games. Ive never done it though. Im a more rock up for the game kinda guy...
problem with a pre game bbq is that one person has to be sober enough to drive home to take the BBQ home.

We started doing it about 2 years ago. Now a tradition. Me and my cuz go into the crows shed after a munch and play on the gamecubes and kick the footy a bit.

Started in the first couple of years of the crows. Some fans realised that to get a decent carpark (stuff all public transport and what there was was very inconvenient) you had to get to the game 2 hours early. Then what do you do? Can't go anywhere, at that stage the shopping center was rarely open on match days. Also Football Park really struggled to cater for 40-50k every game and pretty much only had overpriced pies, pasties, hotdogs and chips for people to eat. So people started having BBQ's. Caught on from there, now it's become a bit of a tradition
