A man (friend of both players) has been charged over the incident. Investigations continue - nobody has been cleared by police irrespective of whether more charges are laid.

The whole episode has a very unsavoury look to it.

If you read the article carefully, it seems 2 alleged incidents occured. The second incident seems to be where this charge has been laid. I get the feeling the 1st incident hasnt yet been resolved as whether any charges will be laid and that seems to be the incident allegedly involving sex with 3 males. The women seems to have claimed she was 'coerced' into having sex with 3 males. The man charged was in the hallway of the house at the time of this 1st alleged incident. He later allegedly assaulted the same women in the laneway. He must have figured she was fair game after the 1st incident.

It doesn't paint a pretty picture for that night. Some very messy people obviously.

Montagna was never accused or suspected of committing any offence. His entire involvement was as a witness but his name was continually dragged through the mud as if he had committed an offence. It was and still is referred to as the ‘Milne and Montagna’ incident when in fact it was only ever Milne who was interviewed as a suspect and later cleared.

Almost 7 years later this post demonstrates that it is still happening.

Yes, I selected the part of the article which pertains to the Collingwood players. Which states that the matter is still being investigated.

Whilst the thread title is accurate, it was just as accurate yesterday before the age article/3AW reports. It is misleading in that a reasonable person would expect such an update (with its own thread) may contain a report that the matter has been dropped. Which it hasn't. The article you provide states as much also:
