Norweigian wood...best Beatles song ever.

The harmony with the Sitar and John's acoustic is beautiful.

A day in the life wasnt on the 1 album was it?

That is a classic.

many classics didn't make it on the 1 compilation because they either werent a single, didnt top the charts. any beatles song could have been a chartopper such were the quality. hard to beleive classics such as here comes the sun and in my life were not singles let alone #1 hits

White album. rubber soul and sgt peppers lonely hearts club band are the three greatest albums ever made. Get them and your set for life.

OK, I personally would say those songs on the number 1 album are some of the poorest there are. They are not cr@p, but they are the worst of the lot.

I will give you a list:

While my guitar gently weeps (George solo version)
Cry baby Cry (version on Anthology 3)
Sexy Sady (Anthology 3)
Old Brown Shoe
You know my name
Yer Blues
Don't let me down
Across the Universe
Back in the USSR
Your gonna lose that girl
For you blue
Helter Skelter
I am a walrus (don't particularly like it but most do)
Not guilty
Mother natures Son
Your mother should know
Rain
Rocky Roccoon (version on Anthology 3(??))
The Inner Light
Goodnight (classic :D )

here comes the sun and im my life are arguably the beatles 2 greatest songs never released as a single therefore not being hits

Never was a Beatles ( or solo offshoots ) fan so can't contribute too much, but of the ones I know this is probably the best I could suggest.
Or perhaps And i Love Her, or If I Fell.
Didn't mind Harrison's ' Give Me Life ' ( or was it Give Me Hope ) either but apart from these and most of Wings' stuff, didn't have much time for anything by the Beatles.

That was Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth) which he would have sung at the concert for New York City had he been well. It is a great song and was his second solo #1 hit of the album Living In The Material World which also enjoyed #1 status

Great album.

"Don't let me wait too long" is a good song, as is "Try some, buy some"

If any beatles fans want to hear some really great stuff.

...do a seach for 'Beatallica'.

Cover band...hilarious and fantastic if you happen to be a fan of both bands to start with. Its simply amazing how the two bands can merge and sound this cool.

Its like you have heard every song on the album before.

Dont knock it till you try it.

Post beatles i enjoy songs like Wreck of the Hesperus, Sue me, when we was fab, cloud 9, thats what it takes, and my personal fave, soft-hearted hana :D

I cannot believe another fan of Soft Hearted Hana! The stories were it is his magic mushroom induced trip around Maui in Hawaii, whether it was his imagination or a personal experience remains a mystery the lyrics are certainly hilariously trippy and would have caused putrage had been released on sgt pepper where they interpreted Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds as LSD. Hows George's dobro playing on that track?

There's a song called Dheradun by Geroge Harrison, I've got the MP3, but I can't find what album it's from. Anyone know?

written in India he then did this as a demo dating back to 1970 which is the version you have. he also played some of it on the lawn with the other fabs on the uke in the beatles anthology, its a nice tune

"many roads will take you there, many different ways, one direction takes you years, another one takes you days"

Dehra Dhun.

He has many great demos floating around such as those on beware of abko which is basically all things must pass unplugged, come to think of it an unplugged by harrison would have been great

Id suggest you just buy the Beatles 'Blue' compilation, 1967-70. Reasonablly good starting point there.

Otherwise buy The White Album, Revolver or Abbey Road.

What he said. If you just want songs rather than the albums definitely get the blue best of. I'd also recommend past masters vol. 2 which has some amazing songs that weren't on the studio albums, and the red best of is worth having if you like their earlier stuff.

If you really want to appreciate them, go out and buy all their albums.

:) What ive got:

- Abbey Road
- Help
- Let it Be
- Magical Mystery Tour
- Revolver
- Rubber Soul
- St. Pepper
- White 1
- White 2
- Yellow Submarine

Ive also downloaded most songs off the no.1 album and playing them together. Bar the no.1's is there an outstanding singles you recommend?

:)

Looks like you have just about all of them except With The Beatles and Beatles For Sale. They are worth having so go for it and complete the collection [of official releases].

I'd recommend the Anthologies too, 2 & 3.
