Five Lions named in AFLW All-Australian squad

The Brisbane Lions have had five players named in the 2024 AFLW All-Australian squad.

Captain Bre Koenen, Ally Anderson, and Sophie Conway along with first timers Belle Dawes and AFLW leading goalkicker, Taylor Smith have all been named.
Dawes enjoyed a breakout 2024 averaging 19 touches, seven tackles and four clearance per game while booting a career high five goals this season.

After a strong finals series in 2023, Dawes continued her good form this year including winning best on ground in the QClash in Week 7 where she racked up 27 possessions and made six tackles.

Ally Anderson, Sophie Conway, Belle Dawes and Taylor Smith have been rewarded for their outstanding seasons, named in the 2024 AFLW All-Australian side at Monday night’s W Awards.
Key forward Taylor Smith and energetic midfielder Belle Dawes broke through for their first All-Australian selections off the back of outstanding seasons.
Dawes, who has enjoyed a career year playing in a strong Lions midfield brings energy and speed to the contest, along with clean hands around stoppage.

Averaging 18.8 disposals, 4.3 clearances and 6.8 tackles, Dawes has been among the Lions best week in and week out.
