I don't expect you to believe me but I have it on very good authority that Cousins isn't clear of his troubles. In fact he's almost guaranteed to stuff up. And that's why the club I spoke to are laughing at Richmond entertaining the thought.

Ben will never be ovis his drug addiction, it will always be there but that does not mean he is still taking drugs. He is trying to rehabilitate. he must have come a certain way in this or other wise why have the AFL passed him fit to resume. people keep forgetting the AFL have passed him fit to resume his career. How anyone can think they would do that if they thought the image of the game was in danger when they live for the image of the game is beyond me.

People talk about due dilligence, well just between Collingwood and Stkilda thousands has been spent making sure Cousins is ready to go and they have said no. Let alone all the others clubs that would have been making enquires over this period.

I am not implying you are talking shit, what I am asking you is if you believe the aFL did not do there due diligence? Are you saying the commission did no investigation into Ben well being before they passed him?
They would have done more and a lot more than the clubs. In my view.

They did. The AFL has no rights to say he couldn't sign up to the draft. The AFLPA would have been all over them if they had of said 'Cousins brought the game in to disrepute' because technically he didn't. The AFL can't say to Cousins 'You still have dodgy mates and are a little dodgy yourself and we caught you with spy camera's doing dodgy things'. They had no real choice but to accept his bid.

Would have been interesting to seem them explain why they couldn't accept him.

Cuz seems to be a smart arse but that could be the drugs......anyway i would love Cousins to come to North.He would have been great for our midfield and i believe(like Kevin Sheedy) that all people should be given a 2nd chance and to prove that he is off drugs.If he uses again well he was given the chance and thats the end of his career and i dont think he would want that for his family and would give it a huge go at giving up.

it's not like he is a child molesterer or anything so dont crucify him!

He has/is addressing his condition with the support of the majority of football fans.
It would be a Football tragidy if he does not play AFL because I and many other fans are in absolute awe of his rare talent!
