I would be inspired as well, he gives his all for the Swans every week and has been super consistant for us in recent years.

I have to confess to have been disappointed with Mathews times last year and this year and this. He has not played well, particularly disappointing against Melbourne., though a bit of that can be put down to a recurring injury.

I am however very happy with the way he played against Essendon and found those 18 possessions very noticeable and hope his talent and early promise will return to grace the swans because he can be a very important player.

you are a disgrace. mathews is one of our best players. you are an absolute joke if you honestly think we should delist him.

Yeah spriggs hasnt had much impact but ben mathews definitely deserves his slot in the team. Hard worker.

He plays the link man out of defence and does quite well with average skills.

He may average skills, but he is one of our most consistent players and provides plenty of onfield leadership.

He's one of those 'meh' players, as far as I'm concerned. He does enough to keep getting selected, but when I'm putting together a best 22, he's always the one that I'm trying to fit in at the end. There's nothing in particular about his game that says 'Benny is a required player'.

He has above-average skills, but requires that half-a-second more than other players to execute it.

I don’t want to de list him but I think to suggest Mathews is one of our best players is wrong, he comes a long way behind a lot of other guys at the moment.
