Just a chat on how the boys r going whos playin well whose injured and who's got state duties. Heard from 1 of the pio boys that selwood done his knee again and had an op the other day but still has a very good attitude. Did sammy o'brien get the call up 4 vic, missed first bit of the season but heard he's been playin well.

Any more news?
 
Just checking the results and it was good to see Bendigo have a win today, now on three wins for the season after whats been a lean couple of years for them.

O'Brien hasn't been selected for the final Vic Country squad, didn't have the best of luck in the trial last week but was named in the best players today.

steve stroobants kicked 7...has come oput of nowhere..
missed out on selection for nsw/act last year in the u16's
174cm too small imo to get drafted though

So where is he from, if he was nsw/act y is he at bendigo, is he from the other side of echuca?

nah in the record it says he's from moulamein which up north i think.
heard weeks and conners made country...wot happend to selwood and obrien? obrien had a knee injury at the start of the year didnt he? heard he been going alright considering his pre-season...do u think any clubs will take a chance with him? and also, who do u think will go from the pio's this yr?

Yeah O'Brien had a knee injury early on, but has just gotten over it and starting to hit his straps now! Very unfortunate in my opinion not to make the final cut on the VIC C list, if he keeps up the good form through out the remainder of the TAC season, be a very big chance to get picked up! He has had an absolute horror run with injuries in previous years, always come at the wrong time, lets just hope he can stay injury free and see where it can take him!

Selwood has done a knee from wat i've heard and weeks has a fractured of broken toe and hasnt been doin 2 much hearvy trainin. O'Brien missed afew at the start but is a gun and really wouldn suprise me either if he gets drafted. Is he related 2 those O'Brien's out locky way, absolute footy freaks! (not bad blokes either)

woodnt have a clue but prob a chance since lockingtons not that far away!all reports say he is a pretty down to earth bloke tho. who are the locky obriens?did they ever play pio's?
where do u think the pio's will finish on the ladder considering they have struggled the last couple of years?

I know Nat O'Brien was selected but broke his ankle a couple years back but all the o'briens a guns. Heard Connors played well 4 vic can any inform me on any of the other boys.

Not sure how the ladder will pan out, beat oakley who r sitting 4th on the ladder then the next week they lose a game they should of won

pioneers had a loss on the weekend 2 murray.. very wet and muddy conditions,they were very unlucky 2 go down,were infront at 3 quater time i heard.. best players were ford,avery,kelm,stroobants,obrien.. any1 got any thoughts on who are draft chances for the pios this year????

Connors,Lee,Avery,Weeks,Geary and of course Selwood.Sheldon is my smokie.
 
Pio's put in another great effort on the weekend. There main players in Weeks, Geary, Connors and Obrien did thier jobs and were quite good through out the day in tough conditions. One interesting move made by the coaches was to put Avery into the midfield for the last half of the game. Interesting move which paid off in my eyes. Showed alot of promise playing in the midfield and maybe couold be something to keep working on because it just ads another facet to his game. Any thoughts on how he went in the midfield and whether it could be more of a permanent move?

weeks and connors hardly got a kick for the game.. geary was alrite but not as good as his past 3 weeks.. as 4 avery in the centre i think it was just 2 add a bit off drive and run in the sloppy conditions..
 
yes they might not have got a kick but they had great pressure around the ball and thats all you can ask for is such bad conditions. as for avery i think your are right. Did add alot of drive to an otherwise lacklustre midfield.

Connors had twenty odd touches he was at full forward for the last half weeks was gettin tagged but still had around 17, 18..avery is a gun

Connors has came along leaps and bounds this year, i have good mail that this because over the pre-season he had much help from team mates of previous years in Ben Taylor and Jimmy Cousins.. he seems to have adopted there style of play and has made him a impossible to a deftenate draftee..

jimmy cousins and ben taylor never got a kick last year, connors will get drafted if he learns how to kick and stop taking on players, gets the ball alot rarly uses it tho, although his getting alot more then his 6 possies a game last year.

You ****er why do u think he stood out in the championships because he was pre pared to run and take on players... thats one of his qualties.. as for his kickin in other quotes its says he has a silky left foot i dont think you have a clue wat your talkin about how bout u stick to reading threads and not addin threads dik head....
