Went to the game and thought Gumby, Reimers, M.Williams & Carlisle were all good. All of them did enough to warrant dsicussion come selection for the Hawks game.
I think Gumby will come in for sure, as will Hille if fit, and Id like to see M.Williams get a run against his old team. He doesnt get the ball that much Williams, and his body language is very 'laconic' - he kinda looks like he isnt trying. But he was pretty vocal out there today and boy - when he does get the ball - he uses it exceptionally well.

Hasn't Gumby been injured?
Would one game warrant senior selection?
T.Pears had a few games in the maggos and he was shot by half time yesterday imo.

Think if you bring in another tall it will be Carlisle.

Unless the selectors go with three ruckman again.:(

I thought all our problems would be solved when we went without the 3 ruckman .....

Bendigo Bombers 5.4 8.6 14.10 21.15 (141)
Box Hill Hawks 3.2 7.6 9.6 10.8 (68)

GOALS:
Bendigo Bombers: Steinberg 5 Gumbleton 3 Dickson 3 Williams 3 Webster 2 Quinn Jenkins Reimers Little Maddern
Box Hill Hawks: Fagan 3 Northe 3 Kitchin 2 Jackson 2

BEST:
Bendigo Bombers: Neagle Williams Carlisle Reimers Steinberg Dyson
Box Hill Hawks: Boumann Northe Lowden Milne Langford Sierakowski

Neagle best on ground? I listened to most of the match and it didn't sound like he did much??

Very good performance after Half Time. Quite patchy in the first half though, the Box Hill boys were very vocal and fired up, as evidenced with the knock on Reimers in the first quarter but Bendigo put on a second half clinic.

I was very critical of Jake Carlisle playing defence after seeing the Bendigo game against the Bullants in Round 1, however he is excelling in the role at the moment. Was very good today and polished. Pushing closer for selection.

Was quite worried after seeing Reimers stretchered off in the first quarter, but he returned later on and had an influence. Was involved in setting up a fair few scoring opportunities.

Gumbleton very impressive. Not getting too carried away just yet and may need another run in the VFL next week but could be the answer to our forward line issues. Was really good in the air especially, I thought.

Neagle & Mark Williams had their moments and probably one of the better Bendigo games I've seen the maligned pair play.

Steinberg kicked 5 and set a couple more up. Exciting prospect.

Dyson was well... Dyson. Another good VFL game but would still be surprised to see him upgraded this week to AFL.

Like the look of Jenkins again, but wow... with Hille/Bellchambers/Ryder he is probably on the hardest list in the competition to get a game in the ruck. Definitely worth persevering with though.

Davey had his usual flashes of brilliance combined with the usual flashes of mediocrity. Couldn't see him getting a game next week if they decide to go with Reimers.

The umpiring display, especially in the second and third quarters, was nothing short of abysmal. Box Hill had everything go their way and supporters still clearly frustrated by the equally pathetic display in the AFL yesterday definitely let them know about it.

I also really think the VFL should consider scheduling the VFL games earlier at Windy Hill at this time of year. Perhaps a 1pm start. The last quarter was played in near darkness with no lights at the venue. Would of been very difficult to play in.
