gee wiz ur spot on there DanHarris....just came back from the Carey practice match and all boys were in fine touch. Goodluck to the poor people who each week have to line up on Jordan Lisle this year....your gonna simply be embarressed. Probably the best year 11 running around the paddock in the APS..I cant tell you how good this kid actually is...it's a joy to watch the great man.
2008 - The Year of Carey Grammar

Lisle didnt play round due to suspension from last year..will play round 2 in a couple of weeks, he is a good player, however is talked up quite a lot, made the metro side last yr but wasnt a standout... TAC cup footbal is much different to state 16s and APS 1st level, yet to make a name for himself in TAC

xavier year 11s on pratice match form:
Noonan - dominated across half back
Kennedy - nothing more to be said about this guy
Grigg - just a guru in and around the packs, amazing hands
Lees - can do anything
Ulbrich - stood up in the ruck

Daniher very disappointing - needs to get his head out of his ass and realise he is only average IMO will be very lucky to get a game

Craig was servicable but 2nds looks most likely at this stage - work in progress

Ambrose doesn't have any particular strengths - good player but not up to 1st standard just yet

Shiel dominated against PEGS big chance of getting a run 1st round - is a much underrated gun

Interesting that you brought up Grigg bohemoth, in years 5-8 at Burke Hall, he was simply dominant, nobody could stop him. Years 9 and 10, he wasn't seen as the best in the year, yet he still reguarly was BOG but being compared to bigger and higher profile guys like Kennedy, he wasn't seen as the superhero anymore. But, he clearly still is one of the best at Xavier, and this season he will show that although underated, that he will play a very important part in the campaign. Nicknamed Skip, as future captain of everything, I wouldn't bet against a long shot spot as a rookie at an AFL club. Needs to grow a tad to really get more attention but a definate starter in the First 18. :thumbsu:

Gotch got in second best for Oakleigh the other week...one of the best players going around..played against him a few times and he is a gun...got nothing else to say!!!!!!

1. Ben Kennedy
2. Sam O'Sullivan
3. Sam Lees
4. Daniel Noonan
5. Matt Shiel
There are so many other players that are right there with them as well, such as Murph Ambrose, Liam Grigg, Ryan Craig, Anthony Hachem. and a kid i love to watch and play with: Josh Beaver. Not in the 1sts, which is understandable, but he's got guts
