over the years northcote park have had many talented koorie players in dave cracker nelson allan thorpe lionel proctor kane cooper now days you got mungas and kaelun brown have also herd of many stories about the carnivals seen last years fitzroy stars team play in thier finals and that was some of the quickest free flowing footy what a team thay had

that stars team was pretty good they beat echuca ( the only other undefeated team till that point ) in the gf by 40goals and rohan best kicked 17goals. but the stars have had some great teams over the years that would match or beat that team remembering that andrew lovett and chis johnson are stars players and that che cockatoo collins and mark west have also played with the stars through out the years. as for their speed and talent as a team i think that would be pretty hard to match by any side getting around at the moment.

That was an awesome display by the Stars boys. That was a fantastic carnival, a credit to the organisers and the Aboriginal community.:thumbsu:

how do you think they would go in the dvfl? i think they would beat all teams for talent and speed but they might not be physical enough.

dont know about them beating all teams but with what they had last year they would be very competitive in div 1 as for not being physical the players i knew playing are all very hard at the ball with the main 3 being mungas kb and kane coopa aswell as having other players who i havent seen that much of being very physical but if they did end up playing in a league a few of the boys need a bit of work on thier fitness

i think that they would need a bit more height in there side and that all players would need to work hard on there defensive side of their game. most aboriginal players are very attacking players who dont work hard on there defence.

Lower Plenty over the past 2 seasons would have had more aboriginal players than any other side in Metro Vic i reckon. many from Tiwi islands. unfortunately, they're all immune to contact.

dont know about lower plenty having the most in 1 side when braybrook had 13 play in 1 game northcote park had cooper proctor mungara kb coree thorpe brad lovett play in a few games together plus 4 in the 19s

Lower has had about 10 go through in the past 2 years,.... ok maybe not the most. but probably the most imports, none were locals.

he's not an aboriginal I think he's an islander but David Fevaleaki is a gun. Came runner up in the TAC cup b and f 2 years ago and last year won the bendigo bomber 2s b and f after only playin a handful of game before headin up 2 the 1s. His Vic country coach said he's the quickest player he's ever seen. Just a freak

Definatly not physical enough, but they would do enough to be a finals contender... Finish anywhere between 3 and 7.:thumbsu:

like i stated before they have very physical players if your just going off what you seen at the carnival where thay one very easy except for there first game and in most footy games if its as one sided as it was there is not much tackling and in that final the echuca team from memory went into there forward line about 7 times with only 3 shots at goal

No im not going off what I saw at the carnival... I have played with and against them for years, and they have NEVER liked it physical. You do get the occasional harder type player, but it aint a common thing.

The are more renown to be evasive, fast and silky skilled. But physical, no.

well out of the boys i have seen play or played with they are hard at the ball and hard at the man being from lalor i think you would know that the game against northcote park where a few of the koorie boys were involved in some altercations against blokes with reputations of being hard men and i didnt see any of the boys take a backward step i also know that the perception about aboriginal footballers has been the same for years but with the game changing so are the aboriginal players they mighten look physical cause they play to thier strength but i think you will find they are a lot harder at the ball than what people think and my example for this is the 3 i know best in kane cooper kaelun and mungara brown all are fearless in the way they attack the footy and constantly put thier bodies on line

Kane whacked Curly fair and square, but did Curl retaliate.... No. Coops did well. KB I can understand, he was that exception I was talking about, like his cousin Shacks. Hard at it. He will be a gun. Mungara is a skill player. I love how the boys go at it TOC I really do, but everytime I lined up on an Aboriginal boy, my major concern was always his pace and skills, not once did I worry about physical aspects.
However as I said, there are those exceptions.:thumbsu:

from memory curly hit kane twice before kane hit him but that wasnt what i was trying to say cause as you would know anyone can throw a punch i was meaning that the boys were not intimidated by the situation and kept playing the ball and yes over the years there have been a lot of aboriginal boys that would of stepped away from a tackle or 2 but these sort of blokes are changing that perception

after getting right off the topic and after doing my research the 3 best aboriginal players playing local or country footy would have to be jason mifsud damien skurrie damien mabo walker

I think you left Kane Cooper out of your top 3 touch of class

sorry touch i wouldnt have skurrie in there maybe in top ten, gary jones and wilfred carter from gippsland would b up there. Lionel Proctor is a class above everyone i think

going on what i have seen and herd these players achievements in local or country football out weigh anyone else there is and only ever hearing about wilfred and gary both i have herd are very good hard skillfull players but gary has had a lot of injury the last few years and wilfred has played in a very weak comp being egfl as for lionel he has all the skill in the world but has fell back to the pack due to family but if fit lionel would be my second pick mifsud is a freak by far the best going around
