Is there anyone who would surpass Chrissy Amphlett for the best front woman in Aussie Rock?

To be honest there hasn't been a proliferation of women who have excelled fronting a band let alone having the opportunity to front one.

Last woman fronting a band that I saw was that chick from the Grates open for the Arctic Monkeys and she was all over the stage. Besides her the other women who have had success are popstars not really frontwomen.

Sarah McLeod - her performance with Angry Anderson on RockWiz took it to a new level - her guitar chops were good too

Amphlett is the best but a couple of other nominations would be Grace Knight(Eurogliders) and Angie Hart(Frente). I'm not a Frente fan but Angie has one of the best female voices I've heard.

Chrissie Amphlett by the length of the straight.

I cant even think of anybody in second place.

She had it all, aggressiveness, good looks (in a scary maneating kind of way), a rock goddess voice, drugs and booze, and mosty importantly of all, great songs.

Others might have been ok but they lack the quality songwriting.

Angie Hart is a different category altogether, but she has a beautiful voice.

Also has a nice rack.

I heard that at the rock hall of fame that Chrissy and Mark went off schedule after their first set in 8 years because the audience were left wanting more, and they got an encore. Yes great songs, a few were written by other writers such as "Touch Myself" but most were written by Chrissy and Mark, their better stuff such as "Back To The Wall" "Only Lonely" "Pleasure and Pain" "Boys In Town" and others.
