I remember him kicking a goal from about 85m out (on the bounce) in the wet in the 92 GVFL GF. Also remember him decking the umpire the next season when he didn't agree with a decision. Right royal man mountain he was.

Yep the biggest bloke ive ever seen on a footy ground I reckon. Monster

Gary Parson has to be considered among the best coaches in country footy.

Coached Deni Rams Senoirs side to 4 consecutive premierships, then once he left, they bowed out of the finals last year in 2 straight games, and failed to make the finals this year.

would have to agree. while i have never played under him, i have listened to him during games and when he was interleague coach. is able to build a great bond with players from only a few trainings. Since his departure from deni they are getting closer and closer to hitting bottom.

Best Coach?

Any coach who leads from the front. Especially a coach who is non playing but still trains and leads the pack. Peter Tyack (South Bendigo) was great at this but he was A/C when I was there.

great coach is darryl wilson, played in premierships at colbinabbin and later coached them to 3 premierships in a row, and is now assistant coach with the bendigo bombers in the vfl. his communication and organisation is second to none

Got to agree with this one one of the most prepared and educated coaches i have seen. Really takes the term "know your opponent" to a new level.

pffffff.... overrated that Wilson! he's only a reserves coach again now :D
Damian 'aggro' Slater was the man behind those flags, with Trav 'monty' Kelly a close second ;)

Matt Walder ex Warrack egales coach and Now wagga tigers coach. Also Marc grieg the current Eagles coach. :D

Mark Lambourn has done well also. But his teams seem to fall short in finals. They go really well in H & A rounds but cant seem to finish it off. But has coached some flags in the past.

well based on the GV you would have to have Steve Daniels up there. Maybe a seymour player could comment. He has had the cattle behind him though.

What are the coaches like in the edfl? Are there any coaches there on the way out...

Steve is the best ive played under, Brian Taylor i liked also.:thumbsu:

Surely with Wangaratta winning their first flag since 1976 Jason Lappin would have to be up there with some in the best in country Victoria. Sure they bought some players but a coach still has to mold a team together:thumbsu:

If 19+blonde = Roi bar does 42+Peroxide =The Carriers?

Jim Jess, ex Richmond premiership player who someone mentioned back at the start of this thread took over as senior coach at Robe FC, Mid SE FL in 2003 and took the club from bottom to top in one season.
