would have to agree. while i have never played under him, i have listened to him during games and when he was interleague coach. is able to build a great bond with players from only a few trainings. Since his departure from deni they are getting closer and closer to hitting bottom.
have to agree there supastarr, Dax was an awsome sight. I think he won 'king of the mountain' at Wycheproof a couple of times didnt he? I can remember Dax and Jon Soloman having some great battles in the early 90's.

Indeed I am and yes they were. How good was that 92 GF? Could do with the rain we had the night before that game. There we puddles nearly a foot deep around the boundary.

Best Coach?
Any coach who leads from the front. Especially a coach who is non playing but still trains and leads the pack. Peter Tyack (South Bendigo) was great at this but he was A/C when I was there.

The small man was a great player. Did he eventually get sacked? I think he would of been a very good coach as he was passionate about his footy.

I think there was work commitments, a few players unhappy due to not getting a game.

Got to agree with this one one of the most prepared and educated coaches i have seen. Really takes the term "know your opponent" to a new level.

I think Slater may of coached Wodonga twos over the last couple of years.

Mark Lambourn has done well also. But his teams seem to fall short in finals. They go really well in H & A rounds but cant seem to finish it off. But has coached some flags in the past.

How does chops go as a speaker? I've heard him a couple of times and he had some difficulty talking to the group.

Steve is the best ive played under, Brian Taylor i liked also.

Surely with Wangaratta winning their first flag since 1976 Jason Lappin would have to be up there with some in the best in country Victoria. Sure they bought some players but a coach still has to mold a team together

Jim Jess, ex Richmond premiership player who someone mentioned back at the start of this thread took over as senior coach at Robe FC, Mid SE FL in 2003 and took the club from bottom to top in one season.
