having been to many games this year i believe that there are many solid forward line players. phil raymond is fast, good on the lead and a straight kick, craig fitzgerald very very smart around goals and clean and crisp skills, hardy for saints is big and quick, strong hands and hard to punch against, aarbon is fast for a man his sized and has potential... wat are peoples thoughts on any other forwards in the comp and the ones i have named??

henry hardy..
very good

Henry Hardy for a key position, Aaron day as well is pretty solid. Phil Raymond for some classy magic

craig fitzgerald is prob the best forward in the college competition... he would have taken the most marks for shc up forward and was instrumental in all the big games (sts, rc, ack)... cant go passed him for skill, class, poise and the best footy brain ive ever seen... this post will cause a stir from other teams but u sts guys and especially u rossie guys have seen this man single handidly beat ur defence..

Aaron Day for SHC has the makings of a champion. Big, tall, strong, agile kid who has a great pair of hands and one of the best shots at goal (especially outside 45m+) ive seen in a long time. Only year 11 too. Look out in years to come.

Aaron day best shots at goal??? Not the same guy i've been watching then. Who is this Craig Fitzgerald bloke you blokes always talk about? I thought Day at CHF, and two full forwards in Richo and Raymond, who is the third key position forward?

o'grady moved onto the ball but still played a bit up forward.. fitzgerald is the albino half forward/f pocket with curly hair.... raymond played better with another tall next to him to sit in the goal square... he isnt suited to taking one-on-one marks b/c its a waste of his pace and strong hands on the lead... day is a young yr 11 so he will imrpove out of sight in the next few years... o'grady will play mainly onball IMO next year

i would say craig fitzgerald is one of the best performing forwards in the competition, he has skill and class on both feet and has a fantastic leap and grab under pressure. would be my pick as best forward in competition considering his size compared to power forwards... fantatsic footy smarts aswel.

so good he gets noticed by everyone he plays i guess...

hahaha just kidding

Watch out everybody theres a comedian in this thread......Fitzy a great player and was very consitent throughout the whole year......definately the best small forward going around but I'd be interested to see the opinions of everybody about who was the best tall forward this year.

how come blackfriars still remains in the 'A grade' competitions with the big teams like saints, pac, rossies and shc? they should go down a level and come back up wen they prove themselves. how is pembroke going to fare next yr as well?

Yes but blackfriars firsts would kill everyone in the seconds. Look wht Gleeson did. Please lets not start another "Gleeson suck" convo though. I guess Blacks will have to remain in that second tier with schools like mercedes, St Iggies, Westminster etc. and just have to cop it against the big guns.

backfriars last season had a wicked team with the likes of Pratt and Delvins, you never no what your gonna get with blacks, but the one thing you are assured of is a team that seriously lacks depth

i wouldnt be puttin westminster in the same catergory as blacks... blacks had 0 good players this year and were soundly beaten by shc by nearly 200 pts... westminster lost to shc by 4 gls.... to blacks credit, they are good at hitting targets.. its just their definition of hitting targets is different to everyone elses ;)

yeh i spose they would fair dominate if they played seconds. they played shc seconds and beat them by a goal and the shc seconds r not all slouches either. they have an agonist team plan though, take bodies, ask questions later

SHC do it legally though. Blackfriars are just very cheap. They dont take bodies they just throw fists, elbows and anything else they can at their opponents. Very Very Cheap

Yeah fair call bout westminster. They have got some good layers. Im a fan of Blesing in particular. Probaly shouldn't have mentioned them In the same category as you mercedes and st iggies though.

blesing is in yr 12. i agree with what you said about him.

blesing should not be mentioned around the likes of the raymonds, hardys etc. for they are several classes above... actually earning and working hard for their possesions and goals

blesing=dud
