When was the last time a top four team (at this stage of the season;)) had 5 debutants in a season with three of them receiving Rising Star nods?

Our replacement full forward is coming along quite nicely as well, Mike Newton bagged 12 for the sandy seconds (i know, i know) on the weekend and looks like he has a bright future ahead of him - like most of our kids.

Well the Blues are showcasing yet another 2 exciting prospects V Swans. Ryan Jackson a 187 cm silky-skilled talented midfielder. Jake Edwards, a 193 cm KP with extreme burst speed. Interesting that Denis is playing a gun CHB like Bower on the wing this week. Recognition of this 194 cm player's midfielder potential I suspect. With Marc Murphy, and Josh Kennedy on the sidelines with injury, plus the inevitable addition of Bryce Gibbs plus others to the Blues already potent midfield, it's becoming clear why many think we are seeing the emergence of the next AFL's powerhouse. Will be nice to see the Blues dominate the AFL once again. In terms of talent ranking of the younger player groups at this stage..

1. Carlton
2. Largish gap
3. Hawks
4. Bulldogs

5 - 13. Middle of the road status

14. North
15. Collingwood
16 Essendon

I find Josh Fraser and Fanning so similar. Both hilarious to watch. :)
How is the wooden spoon cabinent coming along?

Code:
[B] Hawthorn Melbourne Brisbane

   Carlton Richmond Port Adelaide[/B]

One of these teams is not like the others,
One of these teams just doesn’t belong,
Can you tell which team is not like the others
By the time I finish my song?

Hawks well out in front only because they have guys who can and will be total freaks like Franklin and Dowler plus guys that will be very consistent stars like Roughhead, Birchall and Lewis.

Hawks are way out in front because of the illusion of a lot of really good young players. Not many have played seniors yet.

Really only Birchall and Lewis have proved themselves at AFL level. Roughead and Franklin have both shown in spurts they can do it. And in Buddy's case do it very well. But the rest are untried.

Don't expect N_O to answer that-he tends to go missing when he is proven wrong.

Oh, and you can add Kade Simpson to that list.

And probably Josh Kennedy.

And Walker.

:D

I would say none of those guys would get a game at Melbourne at the moment. Murphy maybe, but seriously I doubt it.

Lance Franklin
Jarryd Roughead
Clinton Young
Grant Birchall
Jordan Lewis
Tom Murphy
Beau Dowler
Max Bailey

There's 8, and we've had as many as 7 of them on the ground at one time.
But you're halfway there with the truth. Not many have played seniors yet, we are stil to debut.
Travis Tuck
Xavier Ellis
Beau Muston
Matt Little
Luke McEntee(rookie) and next year we'll have Josh Kennedy under the Father Son and another first rounder.

what an illusion.

Everyone here knows you don't seriously believe that rj. And if you do, you're even more of a tosser than we thought.

Oh really?

Kennedy would replace Miller or Holland, Murphy would replace Ward, Simpson would replace Sylvia, and Walker would replace Bell.

All 4 would EASILY get a game at Melbourne.

I think the problem the Dees have at the moment, is that apart from Davey, none of their younger players are in the elite, potential star category. McLean’s probably the best of them after Davey, and while he is a very consistent, honest midfielder, he’ll never make the elite category. Sylvia’s played his best footy in the FP for Sandy, and keeps struggling at the AFL level. I’m glad the Dee’s are persisting with him though. A small stocky forward pocket type, bit like Gary Moorcroft. Hopefully Col will come good, but for some reason he just lacks awareness on occasions, and gets run down, and makes terrible decisions under pressure. Not sure if he has the footy smarts to succeed at this level. Guess we’ll know by the end of next season. Haven’t seen enough of Jones to comment – but what I’ve seen nothing special. Rivers is a valuable contributor for the Dees and a great pick up, but again not star quality. Bartram and Bate have surprised many, but will be honest at best. With Green, Bruce, Yze, and Neitz all well past their best, the Dees are desperate need of elite talent to break their perpetual middle-of-the-road status, that they’ve had for the past 30-40 years. Nothing seems to have changed. :)
