I just don’t see that category (never broke 130kmh) as a category, because basically that is precisely where all the bowlers bowled. I swear all these bowlers hovered around 130kmh for at least five years..they would consistently bowl overs from 128-134 kmh.
As I see it anyone in decent shape should be able to bowl at 115kph, if they are a natural talent they'd be at around 125 to 130. If you work on technique you can work the 115 up to 130 or if you are a natural talent that 130 bumps up to 140-150, so a professional cricketer who bowls will always be at 130 if they specialize as a bowler, unless they specialize in swing.

Michael Hussey and Ricky Ponting are two certified part timers that spring to mind who have bowled actual military medium in Tests for us. Ponting could swing it both ways and, call me crazy, I think would have genuinely been an allrounder if he was English.

blewy, marto , simon o'donnell, ian harvey, james faulkner some notable aussies

Sounds fair…tho I doubt whether I hit a hundred ! With my Keith Boyce run up! Lol
Changing to Imran didn’t help either!

I think there is one other point.

Whilst these speeds are really agreeable , I just wonder whether and when the consistency factor starts to bite into speed.
Watching Ricky Ponting bowl I was amazed at how good he looks. The form looks great. Yet, he sprays a few down the leg side, and so it is I wonder, that although many of these guys can bowl a decent pace, they cannot maintain a good line and length doing it, so they take off that 10-15kmh and that puts them in dibbly-doubly territory, maybe even worse, at spin speeds.

Have you seen Tony Greig bowl? He was so lanky and tall, perhaps when you have beanpole types, the bounce thing can help mitigate the lack of pace?
